Just that really! Have done some googling and doesn’t seem like a good thing to have done 🤨xxx

Why would it ruin chances ?

LittleRedSocks · 02/08/2019 21:12

When I’ve googled ttc and taking antihistamines the general advice is to avoid them, because they can impact implantation? X

Not heard that one before! I'm sure you'll be fine OP implantantion doesn't happen straight away and at worst it MIGHT affect implantation. Doesn't mean it will for sure. I'm sure plenty of people have got pregnant whilst taking antihistamines

orangeshoebox · 02/08/2019 21:19

not heard of antihistamines having that affect but nsaids (for example ibuprofen, aspirin) might impact ovulation.

LittleRedSocks · 02/08/2019 21:30

From what I can find, it’s something about reducing blood flow to uterus - which I suppose really doesn’t matter so early on in TWW! Thanks for talking me down ladies, needed a slap of sense - this TTC plays havoc with rational thinking eh?! Xx

When I had a IVF transfer the clinic was fine with me taking cetirizine antihistamines. They would absolutely not let me take something that would impact my chances.

LittleRedSocks · 02/08/2019 22:41

Thank you @LillyLeaf that’s very reassuring! I hope the transfer was successful for u xx

My ivf clinic said I could only take Piriton citrizine too. I tested positive 3 days ago

Nautiloid · 02/08/2019 23:10

Eh? I've never heard this!

Bol87 · 03/08/2019 18:21

I got pregnant pretty quickly both times while taking daily antihistamines x2 for my horrific heyfever.. I never even considered it!

You’ll be fine! Even if it did impact, drugs only stay in your body a short tone before being broken down. Hence why you have to take them repeatedly. So taking it on 1DPO would have zero impact Smile

LittleRedSocks · 03/08/2019 18:41

Thanks so much ladies! In the meantime I’ve spent today (2dpo) fretting over:

  • strenuous garden landscaping work and
  • taking an antibiotic for a UTI!

When will it end! Xxx
