Just got a BFP. I took the test during my lunch break, it was more out of boredom than a real belief that I could be preggers.

Am totally stunned.

I have only had 1 AF since giving birth a year ago. That AF was eight weeks ago. I was not surprised when another did not follow 4 weeks later as I thought it would take a while for normal service to resume.

The thing is I have not had sex since the AF. Seriously. Therefore one of the following most be true:

  1. I was pregnant before last AF and it was not a real AF. But it was very, very heavy so this seems an unlikely option. It would also make me quite far along (10 weeks?) which is too scarey for words.

  2. This is an immacualte conception.

I am not at all sure what to beleive. Am sitting at my desk staring at the test. Have not called DP yet. Maybe I should call the Vatican instead.

Might be upset if she has had a mc. I had a chemical pregnacy where it was still positive at this point but it wasn't that strong though. I vote for early loss of a twin too - hope she is ok, would still be a bit upsetting and a shock I would imagine. This happenned to a friend of mine and she went on to have a normal pg.

Peachy · 31/07/2007 20:05

did think that- its fun to be wagering and all but if its bad news she's not going to be wanting to come back now is she?

Slubberdegullion · 31/07/2007 20:06

Maybe she is trying to think up a really catchy and amusing new name as we'll all know who she is forever more after this thread.

FillydoraTonks · 31/07/2007 20:07

oh am worried now for her

gogetter · 31/07/2007 20:11

No positive thoughts - she has probably only got back in the last hour or so and is talking and celebrating with her DP. Plus if she is 10 wks along then she might be telling relos and friends before us lot!
Shame I though MN was priority!!

gogetter · 31/07/2007 20:12

Sorry that should read,

No, positive thoughts - as in think positive thoughts.

have just read this.. hope everything is ok

FillydoraTonks · 31/07/2007 20:30

ok, if she IS about 10 weeks pg she is probably digesting this rather shocking news. Clearly it wasn't planned or anything. I know how this feels, its really disconcerting.

If she has just had a m/c she will be upset.

Either way, I can quite see that she wouldn't be prioritising posting on MN!

But I would like to know that she is ok.

HonorMatopoeia · 31/07/2007 20:31

This must be the only long thread I've bothered to read all the way through! Fascinating....adding myself to lurkers who need closure and sending OP'er good vibes
