Just got a BFP. I took the test during my lunch break, it was more out of boredom than a real belief that I could be preggers.

Am totally stunned.

I have only had 1 AF since giving birth a year ago. That AF was eight weeks ago. I was not surprised when another did not follow 4 weeks later as I thought it would take a while for normal service to resume.

The thing is I have not had sex since the AF. Seriously. Therefore one of the following most be true:

  1. I was pregnant before last AF and it was not a real AF. But it was very, very heavy so this seems an unlikely option. It would also make me quite far along (10 weeks?) which is too scarey for words.

  2. This is an immacualte conception.

I am not at all sure what to beleive. Am sitting at my desk staring at the test. Have not called DP yet. Maybe I should call the Vatican instead.

Am I a regular? I was about to reply that I hardly post but lurk alot. Then did a search under my usual name and it came back with over 400 posts . How did that happen?

I will reveal my normal name but not until I know what is going on (the reason being two friends know my normal name and they cannot know about this yet).

Exciting!

A friend of mine was PG and then had some heavy bleeding and assumed a MC. However a scan showed a def heartbeat but hosp reckoned she had been carrying twins and had lost one.

So you may be further along than you think, have had a MC but still be PG and not quite a candidate for sainthood!

Will check later!

Tutter · 31/07/2007 16:28

am guessing you are a londoner if you haven't yet left home and have a private scan booked at 5:30?

Tutter · 31/07/2007 16:28

(sorry, i know there are private scanning places outside london, but far fewer)

InShockAndAwe · 31/07/2007 16:41

Ooooh you are a suspicious lot. I am a Londoner. I work in Zone 1 (although I use the term "work" loosley in light of my activities today). The scan is in Harley Street.

Don't worry. I am off now.

oh exciting let us know ASAP!

fedupwasherwoman · 31/07/2007 16:54

having suffered vile vomitting in early pregnancy I fantasised about not knowing I was pg for many weeks into a pregnancy and having to do a test and then being surprised by the result, so I am and hope all is well with the scan.

Your dp sounds lovely to understand that you "don't do suspense"

Will deffo be checking this thread later tonight.

peanutbear · 31/07/2007 16:55

Oh - and DS was DEFINITELY an immaculate conception! I was in Bangkok and DH was in Sydney at the time of conception.

IVF is a wonderful thing!

thebigSea · 31/07/2007 17:12

I had a similar experience last christmas.

We used both the pill [very carefully] and a condom, which did not break in any way. LAst December, he worked away all week. Also v busy with three kids at christmas so basically not a shag fest. I actually don't remember doing it and must have been asleep if we did.

I am now 33 weeks pregnant.

Good luck, and if you do phone the vatican perhaps you could pass on my details as well.

podglet · 31/07/2007 17:13
