Just got a BFP. I took the test during my lunch break, it was more out of boredom than a real belief that I could be preggers.

Am totally stunned.

I have only had 1 AF since giving birth a year ago. That AF was eight weeks ago. I was not surprised when another did not follow 4 weeks later as I thought it would take a while for normal service to resume.

The thing is I have not had sex since the AF. Seriously. Therefore one of the following most be true:

  1. I was pregnant before last AF and it was not a real AF. But it was very, very heavy so this seems an unlikely option. It would also make me quite far along (10 weeks?) which is too scarey for words.

  2. This is an immacualte conception.

I am not at all sure what to beleive. Am sitting at my desk staring at the test. Have not called DP yet. Maybe I should call the Vatican instead.

A quick scan of this (enormous) thread suggest that CeCe won the sweepstake with her prediction of 10+6.

Congratulations CeCe. It appears that you know my body better than I do .

Congratulations, marvellous news.

You know, in my day you didn't get to find out until you'd missed to periods anyway. Much better I think, pregnancy is long enough without finding out after a day!

belgo · 01/08/2007 11:12

wow congratulations!

I also wondered if you had lost a twin

Wishing you a very happy pregnancy!

barbamama · 01/08/2007 11:14

I don't want to work it out, I want to know for sure by being told.

Last night was enough suspense for a pregnant lady like my good self!

Have been lurking on this.

So pleased for you

And how lovely to have 'done' 11 weeks without all the worrying and thinking and everything.......

Pidge · 01/08/2007 11:26

Talk about suspense .... CONGRATULATIONS!

Now we want your tips on how to skip all the vomiting and exhaustion and go straight in to blooming!!!

popsycal · 01/08/2007 11:28

Oh wow!!!!
Congratulations
so when do you reveal your regualr name

MerlinsBeard · 01/08/2007 11:30

congratulations!!

Are we allowed to know who you are now?

FlameParakeet · 01/08/2007 11:33

Oh YAY!!!!

(Glad it's not the son of god... think how much hassle it would be with the paparazzi following you all the time )

Katy44 · 01/08/2007 11:34

And you'd soon have to name him as the father on the birth certificate, imagine that!

meemar · 01/08/2007 11:35

Congratulations - how wonderful!

I have some old pg tests upstairs - I may go and wee on one to see what happens

preggersagain · 01/08/2007 11:35

can you imagine the headlines "Bugaboo chosen for the son of God!"

Well i'm of you going to 11 weeks without noticing- no chance here i'm afraid!

InShockAndAwe · 01/08/2007 11:36

My regular name is going to be a big anti-climax for you all. Don't ratchet up the suspense too much.

I do need to tell my friends first which I will try and do before I go on hols tomorrow (Had I known my condition I may not have booked a fortnight of indulging in French cheese, wine and salami...).

Am feeling a bit silly this morning. How can an intelligent woman in her late twenties not know her own body well enough to detect that she is one third of a way through a pregnancy??? Beleive me I did not jump straight to blooming - I honestly thought that I just kept getting bugs.
