Sainsbury’s test - skinny line - anyone had this and was pregnant?

(Also posted this on the pregnancy board but haven’t had much joy.)

We’ve been going through IVF and I had some unusual mid-cycle spotting this month on one of our months off (ie between ivf cycles). I decided to take a test yesterday 5 days after spotting started and got this result. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much as I have read a lot about false positives on Sainsbury’s tests (especially with skinny lines to the left...)

Did anyone have a result like this and it was a real positive?

Thanks so much in advance.

Yes! I had this in my last pregnancy using Sainsbury's tests. Think it is an issue with the dye but do get another test to be sure. Baby dust for you xx

hate to say it but i had two from the same sainsburys pack give that same result and it was false - did the line appear within the time window? if so would be more likely to be positive, but i'd use a pink dye test if possible to confirm. good luck! x

Yes sorry also but I had a similar result when I wasn't pregnant.

Thanks for replying everyone.

I could see a very faint line within ten minutes but it took an hour to grow that strong. I also took a frer which was negative so I knew not to hope too much. I will just have to wait and see. Will update this post when I know in case it’s useful to anyone else. Hoping I’m like Islandermum but not optimistic. It’s just annoying as I’ve had totally blank Sainsbury’s tests several times before... grrr

Just an update in case useful to anyone else. I wasn’t pregnant and am pretty convinced (from other tests) that it wasn’t a chemical. I think the sainsbury tests are a bit faulty...
