Hello! Am currently ttc #1 cycle 2 so relatively new to this however feeling impatient already! I know this is ridiculous so was just curious as to how long it took those who already have a child/children to conceive? Just for a bit of piece of mind really! Blush

Thank for all your responses ladies- it's relieving to see a whole spectrum of experiences. As someone previously said, the length of time people have been trying to conceive is just not very widely spoken about and it feels quite lonely when you're in the midst of it! Even though I know I'm being a psycho it's hard not to let your mind run away with you... Good luck to everyone xxx

It took me 3 years. Had 3 rounds of ivf that all failed and then got pregnant naturally 🤷‍♀️.

We were told at the infertility clinic that 90% of couples conceive within 1 year and 95% will conceive within 2 years. It's so hard to wait but just relax and know statistics are on your side.

@cookie23
DD1 - first cycle
DC2 - second cycle (due October)

I honestly thought it would take ages second time so I still don't believe I'm pregnant 🤣

They say it can take up to 12 months for a healthy couple to conceive.

I'm pretty healthy, not overweight, eat everything cooked from scratch and lots of veggies and I'm 23 year this so in my prime fertility wise.
We are on month 7 of TTC.
My SIL conceives both her children on the first try.. as in, they only had sex once... both times.

I really was niave in thinking it would happen to us. Yet here we are.

I hate the "so are kids on the cards for you two anytime soon?" Yeah 7 fuckin' months ago.

2 years for the first. 3 years and egg donor ivf for the second.

How long is a piece of string is the correct answer here.

Good luck and try not to get obsessed too early on.

DC1 11th cycle
DC2 1st cycle, literally just once
DC3 4th cycle

It's very dependant, my and dp stopped actively trying to prevent in summer 2015, we started ttc in June last year. August I went to see my GP as nothing happened. I mean there weren't even any scares in the 3 years leading up to actively ttc. I was heartbroken and worried, I was tested, everything was OK bar iron levels.
September last year I had a mc (turns out I conceived around the time I saw my GP)
I fell again in October and we are expecting our first in July.
If you go from ttc I would say 5 cycles to success.
If you go from not preventing 52 cycles?

horsesnchickens · 19/04/2019 18:26

Ds1 first first
Dc2 second cycle

First cycle. Single try. We are very lucky!
