I've never posted on here before so forgive the lack of lingo.
I've been trying to conceive number 2 for around 2 and a half years. In that time, I've had all the usual tests (everything came back normal), 6 rounds of Clomid, and a miscarriage at 10 weeks. I'm booked in for a laparoscopy next week to check for endometriosis. I'm 39.
I had what I thought was my period last week, it was two days early and shorter than usual but I had heavy-ish, red bleeding and bad cramps (so bad I had to take a paracetemol). Then, over the weekend I had a nosebleed. The last time I had a nosebleed I was pregnant. I'm not sure what made me take a pregnancy test, but I did. It was a cheapie pound shop one but it was positive. I panicked and spent a fortune on a Clearblue test. It said 2-3 weeks pregnant.
I'm assuming now that my 'period' wasn't actually one after all, but it felt pretty normal. Apart from being shorter than normal (2 days rather than 5 and no spotting before and after), the pain and bleeding was pretty similar, though my periods have been a bit all over the place over the past few years.
Has anyone had this? What happened? Should I be worried it's ectopic? I'm thinking I might go to the doctor later this week when I'm off work, but if last month's period was my latest (if that makes sense) I'll only be 5 weeks this Thursday and I'm not sure he can do much.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
