@Soberfutures also, I got the Glow app for iPhone. You can photograph the strips and it reads them to tell you if it's positive or negative. It's not 100% accurate but I've found it pretty good.

Then it uses the data to more accurately predict your FW and O day etc.

Soberfutures · 28/11/2018 11:25

I start testing a few days before my app says I will be fertile. Afternoons are ment to be best time to test. Once it starts showing something I then usually test twice a day. 1pm and 6pm if I can. And I will test again today about 3pm to see if it has got darker.

Once I get a positive I still test the next day until negative.

It has helped me track my cycle better and a few times it's helped but I have had a number of chemicals so no success fully.

Queenofmyownheart · 28/11/2018 11:25

Thanks @WildFlower2018 I've have a google now fingers crossed for you!

Whowouldhavethoughtit · 28/11/2018 12:03

Hi all,

I need some comforting. I was meant to be due on yesterday or today and I have no sign of my period coming. I'm usually really hormonal, spots and diorreah....but non of the above. I've woken up today and the bottom.of my back is so sore and I can't say I feel sick (I'm never ever sick so I'm not too sure what it feels like) but like a nervous anxious sicky feeling in my tummy. I don't have any tests so I've Amazon primed some to come tomorrow and my partner is away till tomorrow night. Do you reckon I should go to the shop tonight or wait and test on Friday morning when we are both there?!

veeboo · 28/11/2018 14:10

Hi all 👋. @Whowouldhavethoughtit do you know when you ov ulated? If you're sure your late you can test anytime, but the longer you leave it the more likely it'll be accurate. I'd suggest either way you test in the morning.

Think im a bit further ahead on the bus. Due to a long cycle i totally missed November. I'm now 9dpo. The last 3 days I've had slight cramps mostly on my left side. None today so far. I'm going to test on Saturday when I'll be 12dpo using a frer. I feel really quite scared this cycle!

Soberfutures · 28/11/2018 14:40

I would wait for the frer as they more reliable and have partner with you. It's so frustrating all the waiting around and counting days.

My opk is even darker now!!!!

Whowouldhavethoughtit · 28/11/2018 16:36

I just went an got some more frer. I can't be stopped! I am going to try my hardest not to use it but I know what I'm like. I hate surprises and waiting....God I must sound ridiculous.
I'm not 100% sure of the day I ovulated as I don't use sticks or temp I just try and follow my body and we had sex every other day for 2 weeks. My last 2 cycles have been 33 and 34 days and this is day 35.
I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for Saturday @veeboo. Why do you feel scared for this cycle? X

veeboo · 28/11/2018 16:55

That sounds really promising then @Whowouldhavethoughtit! Fx for you. I think I just feel anxious. Trying not to symptom spot but they have been different this month. No full blown cramps yet and they normally come 3-5 days before AF so anytime now really. It's just a total mind f*ck every month isn't it! And after a 59 day cycle last month i just feel like everything is so out of our control

Whowouldhavethoughtit · 28/11/2018 17:00

It's so much easier said than done when people tell you to try and relax isn't it. How many cycles have you been trying?
I got a book (second hand because it was expensive!) Called taking charge of your fertility- it's big! But really helpful and informative about your body in general but also for information on reading your body when ttc. It's made me feel a lot more relaxed about it (she says while trying to work out the last time I had a wee and if I should test tonight!) And understanding why you may have a long cycle or short etc. It might not help everyone but maybe worth a go x

veeboo · 28/11/2018 17:52

Thanks for the advice. I came off the pill in January but I think we only really got into the swing of things around June when I started using opks as we struggle to std every other day

unicornxo · 28/11/2018 17:53

@Whowouldhavethoughtit I would have caved by now 😂 fingers crossed for. You could test tonight so you could update us all 😂😂

Peaky1 · 28/11/2018 18:07

Hi all
Joining in as only just started trying again after a while (period due on Sunday) and hoping to conceive in December. I need to look up a lot of these abbreviations to figure out all of the figures you’ve been posting!

Already have 2 boys aged 6 and 3 Smile

Pinacolada1234 · 28/11/2018 18:36

@Seahawk80 how did you work out when you were ovulating /TT Cwith such irregular cycles? Mine have not settled down since stopping the pill. Did you opk test?

Queenofmyownheart · 28/11/2018 18:56

Anyone used the one step OPKs? Are they ok?

Crazydreamer · 28/11/2018 19:01

So due af 2moro, this is the bit in hate lol especially if it's late. Can everyone keep their fingers xd for me. Thanks.

Whowouldhavethoughtit · 28/11/2018 19:05

@unicornxo I'm currently holding a wee as we speak 😂 I'll check back in in an hour or so....if I make it that long without having an accident!

WildFlower2018 · 28/11/2018 19:14

@Queenofmyownheart that's what I used, got them off eBay

I found them ok x

unicornxo · 28/11/2018 19:33

@Whowouldhavethoughtit let us know 😬 x

Whowouldhavethoughtit · 28/11/2018 20:13

BFN :( I'll try again in the morning though and see. It's not over till aunt Flo comes to town I guess!

unicornxo · 28/11/2018 20:28

@Whowouldhavethoughtit that is very true. I wish the whole TTC and early pregnancy could be more enjoyable x

Queenofmyownheart · 28/11/2018 20:40

Thanks @WildFlower2018 I'm gunna give them a go 🙂

stroan · 28/11/2018 21:29

Just checking in. Not much happening here, I didn’t ovulate until CD23 last month and currently on CD11. Will start using OPKs tomorrow, and SMEP!

Based on last months dates, I’d be testing around Christmas Day. Really hopeful this month as we have a family wedding to attend just after Christmas and I know I won’t cope with all the questions about baby #2 if I’ve just had another unsuccessful month.

Seahawk80 · 28/11/2018 23:22

@Pinacolada1234 I went to the doctor after my 2nd 60 day cycle. She was amazing, I was really lucky. I told her my symptoms and that both my sisters had pcos. She said given your age (36) and that you've been trying 6 months I'll refer you for tests for pcos / fertility but also in the meantime prescribed metformin. It's used for controlling milder diabetes but randomly can help with pcos, it worked miracles, I was pregnant within 3 months and a month after starting it almost all my cysts were gone! It doesn't work for everyone but I'm on it again this time and it's regulated my cycles.

Sorry this probably doesn't help you if you're irregular after the pill. I haven't used opks much as they don't always work if you have pcos. I just tryto dtd as much as possible around the FW.

veeboo · 29/11/2018 06:51

@stroan I'm with you on the long cycles! @unicornxo couldn't agree more. @Whowouldhavethoughtit fx you get a bfp soon. I was so tempted to test today (10dpo) but hoping I can hold out until Saturday

PaintingOwls · 29/11/2018 08:20

Morning all! I am 3 DPO today. I was so hot last night I couldn't sleep. Not sure if this is a sign of anything. Each day is dragging so much.
