Hi all! So getting a bit concerned and frustrated now, i stopped the pill september 14th, had a withdrawel bleed on september 17th for 5 days, but i still have not had a period? So thats now 5 weeks from when my withdrawel bleed stopped. I know it takes time but how long do i wait till i go and see a doctor? Also is there anychance of me conceiving before i get a period? Any advice would be really grateful Smile

Hey Luckylola12 we have pretty much exactly the same dates. I also came off the pill the same week as you in September and am still waiting patiently for my period to arrive! Hopefully soon....

Reallybadday · 29/10/2018 19:32

I waited 3 months before I had a period, then 6 weeks until the next one and they are only more regular now after nearly 6 months.

MrsDash · 29/10/2018 20:30

It can really vary.
I was very similar to Reallybadday.
Almost 4 months before period returned (no idea If I ovulated during that time). Then 6 week cycles which are gradually getting shorter. Cycle is down to 34 days currently but it’s taken 10 months.

Mine didn't return after a year. Had bloods done and transpires l wasn't ovulation. The "periods" l thought I'd been having miles apart were actually where the lining of the uterus had built up, got to heavy and came away.

My body had basically switched off after being on the pill and didn't switch on again.

Pastaallday · 01/11/2018 21:05

Oh no Fishes that doesn't sound good. Have you got any closer to solving the problem?
Does anyone take any supplements? I've been reading up that zinc and b12 may help with periods etc so worth I go I figure no harm. Holland and Barrett have a penny sale on at the moment.

FishesThatFly · 01/11/2018 23:18

Had one lot of Clomid which kicked my body in to ovulate...... and DS is now 11yrs old.

1sttimeDD · 01/11/2018 23:28

It took me around 6 weeks after being on microgynon for approximately 2 years.
Then it took me another 2 years to conceive my long anticipated DD!

MrsTumbletap · 01/11/2018 23:46

I came off the pill in December and had no period for about 3 months, then I had one, then it stopped again for another couple of months. It took about 8/9 months for my cycle to calm down and be normal again, but I had been on the pill since I was 16! So over 13 years

Worked out well though and had a lovely little DS.

Give your body time, don't worry you have only been off it for a few weeks.

SweetheartNeckline · 01/11/2018 23:56

I came off Microgynon in July and still hadn't had a period by the end of January, however I managed to get pregnant (I must have ovulated, due to get first period early Feb but had happened to have sex at the right time) Don't fret just yet. You can always just have regular sex on the off chance and start timing sex once periods are back and regular. Get some cheapie tests and do them on a set date each month until your period has returned.

SweetheartNeckline · 02/11/2018 00:00

Oh and because I breastfed I didn't have a period from July 2010 (came off pill) until March 2013 (DD turned 18 months)... you absolutely can ovulate and therefore become pregnant before a period.

Thankkyou all for your feedback! I feel much better now =) will just carry on playing the waiting game.

@Luckylola12 thanks Although it was a pretty pathetic first period! Over before it started really! Just hope I don't have to wait that long for the next one.
Have you been doing opks? According to them I ovulated 2 weeks prior to af so fingers crossed I did actually ovulate.
