Hello

My husband and i have been ttc for half a year. This is my 6th cycle. I know it can take healthy couples up to a year but I'm getting a little anxious. Anyone else in the same boat??

Oh AmyOC sorry to hear that! It's awful that moment when your hopes are dashed Sad really did always think it would be so straight forward to get pregnant! Big hugs.

Willowjasmine · 22/10/2018 17:21

Hi Aliceblue22 any update??? Fingers crossed for you.

Aliceblue22 · 22/10/2018 20:50

Ho @Willowjasmine,
Unfortunately AF arrived yesterday, but looking at it as a new opportunity and trying to stay positive.
Mother Nature can be such a cowbag!

GreyC · 22/10/2018 20:55

Hi ladies; can I join?
I’m 27; second actively trying month for first baby

I’m (I think) 6/7 days post ovulation. I got two days of high positive opks this month.

I’ve been getting a lot of period cramps these last two days. So I think I’m out. I have very short cycles AF is due in 6/7 days so I don’t know if I would be getting symptoms yet for implementation?! No idea; it’s all a mine field to me!

Thanks all

AmyOC · 29/10/2018 13:19

Hi GreyC!

Sorry for the late reply, how are you getting on?

I'm just twiddling my thumbs waiting for ovulation again now. It's easy to see how a year passes for people trying to conceive with only one opportunity a month.

I have about two weeks (ish) to wait, I think. I'm going to bulk buy some ovulation strips this time to really try and pin point my ovulation.

How are you all getting on? Xx

Hi everyone. Sorry to hear of all the AFs arriving Sad I'm waiting for mine.. should be due by weds latest. Although I think i didn't ovulate because I didn't get a peak on my opks, part of me is still hoping I did and this is my month. Definitely feel as though AF is around the corner. Just want to get it over with so can start afresh next month

Willowjasmine · 04/11/2018 18:53

AF arrived today after a 39 day cycle.. Sad on to the next month!

Sshsecretenclosed · 04/11/2018 19:34

Hi all I'm about 18 months into ttc-ing. Came off the pill two years ago in January and like everyone, took a while to settle into a routine.
I think we need to get better at actively 'trying' at the right time of the month!! We've used OPKs sporadically. I just feel like I need to be more positive too. I'm quite stressed and panicky because of a stressful job and it feels that has cost me conceiving so far. Any tips on how to get back on track?! I'm back on ttc vitamins (seven seas) and ordered some opks. I'm only CD4 today so going to try and have a positive and hopeful month!

Willowjasmine · 04/11/2018 19:47

@Sshsecretenclosed

This is me to a tee. I take pregnacare conception. Have been using CB digital opks but to be honest I'm finding it more stressful using them and monitoring heart rate etc... Just because it feels like more pressure on myself, more to worry and obsess over. This month once AF is over we are just going to do the NHS recommending BD every 2-3 days throughout the cycle and hope for the best.

Sshsecretenclosed · 04/11/2018 19:53

willow I am in the same boat entirely. Everyone else is pregnant. Feels like it's only me who isn't. I'm working way too many hours and all I really want is for me and dh to have a baby and have family life. To do this, I have realised I need to give myself much more self care than I am currently. I'm going to look out positively this month. I'm taking my vitamins. Got some opks in case I want to try them again. Going to actively try and leave work on time. Going to make the effort to go to my exercise class once a week. I feel much better after having a heart to heart with dh a couple of days ago. I blamed myself for it not happening yet and feel as if I was giving everything to work and nothing else. Good to know others are feeling the same. Can you practice some self care this month too?

Willowjasmine · 15/11/2018 16:22

@Sshsecretenclosed
Sorry for the delayed response! How are you getting on this month with self care? You're absolutely right, we need to look after ourselves first before anything else and it's easy to get wrapped up in the stress. Easier still to blame ourselves for things not happening as quickly as we would like. I've had a few wobbles this month but trying to accept that I'm doing everything within my control to get pregnant and the rest is up to chance/luck.
It just really doesn't help that over the last fortnight I've found out that about 6 people I know are expecting, and one of them got pregnant by accident! How can people get pregnant by accident when I can't seem to and I'm doing everything I can think of?!

I've just booked a course of reflexology to try and help me manage my stress and feel a bit more balanced generally.

AmyOC · 15/11/2018 19:37

Sorry I have been quiet too, I tried to distance myself from it for a while, it sort of helped, however I did end up at a kitten shelter last weekend, so maybe not! After cuddling a kitten all day, we agreed the hours we work are too long for a cat, that combined with potential litter tray problems for pregnant women, we left without one. My need to nurture something is so strong!

I know what you mean about accidental pregnancies, how does that happen?!? Now I know the biology behind ovulation it's crazy that anyone concieves!

I'm coming to the end of w1 of my 2ww, sore boobs as usual but I'm trying not to obsess over symptoms.

The reflexology sounds good, have you tried yoga aswell? I've heard that can be helpful, and good for flexibility for birth! I have some issues with stress too so it would be great to hear how you get on Smile

I'm taking folic acid, is there anything else anyone recommends?

Mseddy · 15/11/2018 20:48

Hey. Can I join here too? I'm 29 and TTC number 1. We don't have the most perfect medical history behind us, but we are being positive and ignoring this for now and trying away! We have been trying for 5 months now. I'm 9dpo so hoping for some good news in the next few days!

@amyoc I have to fight the cat corner. I work 12 hour days and my DH works away alot. We have two cats and they are fine by themselves :) they have a cat flap so we don't have to worry about any litter trays. Honestly I think they are the things that keep me going through the battle of TTC. They just know when you need a snuggle :)

Willowjasmine · 15/11/2018 21:35

How weird!!! My husband and I have been thinking of getting a kitten and are going to see some this weekend lol! Like @Mseddy said I think it will help when I need some cuddles and just something to focus on outside of ttc. Regarding potential litter tray problems - I had the same thought but then also thought it could be years until I'm pregnant. One thing I've decided to do is not plan as if I could be pregnant any time soon and put things off as life will just be on hold. So get the kitten!!! (Not that I'm biased😂)

I haven't tried yoga as I can't find any classes that fit around my work schedule. But i take pregnacare conception supplements and also use conceive plus.

ckc45d10 · 16/11/2018 20:56

@AmyOC Double check you supplements with your doctor, but have you considered CoQ10 or ubiquinol? Research suggests it may support fertility. You may also want to look into the formulation of your supplements for absorption. For example, a water anf fat-soluble form of CoQ10 absorbs better.

Sshsecretenclosed · 17/11/2018 10:41

Hi all.

Hmmm self care month was great in theory but I've been super stressed because of work!! I honestly cannot say how much I feel everyone with the constant announcement of pregnancies recently - but it will be us soon!!
Haven't been too successful with dtd this week. Have used conceiveplus once too. First time. I'm taking Seven Seas trying. Any other recommendations for vits would be great! I'm also interested in reflexology too - how is it beneficial?

Willowjasmine · 17/11/2018 17:21

@Sshsecretenclosed I'm glad somebody else feels how ridiculous recent pregnancy announcements have been!!! Saw another one yesterday on Facebook, it's her second child and she's the same age as me. I know I shouldn't compare with other people but makes me feel like I'm so behind in my life plans and I've left it too late 😔

So reflexology apparently won't help conceiving specifically but it's good for stress and relaxing and feeling more rebalanced. A few months ago I received some bad news and didn't have a period for 50 days. Had one session of reflexology and came on the next day! May just be a coincidence but at this point I'm happy to try. They also can stimulate your ovaries etc by touching specific points on your feet. Main benefit for me is to take an hour out of your day guilt free just for you 😊 and it feels quite nice!

Sshsecretenclosed · 17/11/2018 17:38

@Willowjasmine how old are you? I'm nearly 31 and can really feel the clock

Wow anything is worth a try isn't it!!

Willowjasmine · 17/11/2018 17:46

I'm 30... which I know isn't old. But i have pcos and when I was diagnosed the gp said I should try to conceive before 30. Unfortunately several bereavements in the last few years meant I wasn't in the right frame of mind to have a baby.

Sshsecretenclosed · 17/11/2018 17:53

@Willowjasmine I'm sorry to hear that.

I really think frame of mine has to be right. X

AmyOC · 20/11/2018 10:47

Sorry Willowjasmine. I agree, it has to be right, and maybe it was meant to be now, you know? I don't usually buy into all that but i have been using it as a comfort recently, it hasn't happened get because it wasn't supposed to and all that.

I had a few dreams last night of getting my period... And then it came this morning. How strange, or maybe it was my body trying to prepare me for disappointment, who knows.

Anyway fingers crossed for you all, we have Christmas coming up and there is always a surge in births in September! Maybe it will be our month! Relax, eat probably way more than we should and just enjoy it, our bodies (and minds!!) may thank us Grin Grin

Willowjasmine · 24/11/2018 12:52

Hi everyone, how are we all getting on? Had my first reflexology appt last week which was really good! Not tracking with opks this month so I won't know if I ovulated or not unless I get my bfp (fingers crossed) but unlikely.

Do definitely agree about relaxing and enjoying ourselves. Past few months I've been trying not to drink in 2ww etc but this time i just feel like what's the point!

Sshsecretenclosed · 24/11/2018 19:35

I feel like I've failed a bit now. I think I'm 6DPO but have had another awful week at work. Worked too many hours and just feel so stressy and worried about Monday already. I realise work really isn't letting me be kind to myself!

I need to refocus and start this week as I mean to go on. I slept for 11 hours last night. Took my vitamins today. Eaten properly.

Somebody had their twelve scan yesterday. Seeing the pic just made me so sad that yet again it isn't my turn

Willowjasmine · 27/11/2018 17:25

@Sshsecretenclosed I'm sorry you're having a crap time ☹ is there any way you can reduce your work? Have you managed to get any self care in?

It's funny about seeing the scans and hearing the announcements isn't it... I always promised myself I wouldn't get jealous and resentful and yet here I am. I saw one a few weeks ago just before I went to sleep and spent about an hour crying and wondering when it will be my turn...

So atm I have no idea how many days p.o I am or even if O occurred... but I keep getting this weird pulsing in my ear like my heartbeat whenever I go up stairs or walk quickly and getting loads of CM... probs reading too much into things but can't help getting my hopes up...

Sshsecretenclosed · 28/11/2018 20:47

@Willowjasmine there's so many pregnancies and I think xmas is such a family time too - and a lovely time for an announcement!! Well AF is due and I'm cramping and very bloated so I'm out!! I need less stress, it's just so full on in my job.
