Hi ladies, I had IVF and was very lucky it worked first time and I have been blessed with twins who are now 15 months. Last week I felt nauseous and had really bad heartburn (which I only had when I was pregnant) so I randomly took a pregnancy test 2 days before AF was due and it was positive!!! To say I was shocked is an understatement. Anyway of course I've been peeing on sticks left right and centre but I'm worried my lines are getting lighter? Here are my tests but wondering what you ladies thought. I guess I'm technically 4+2 now. xxxxx

Yer true. Maybe I'll call then.
I dunno I just now am feeling like I thought I couldn't get pregnant. It's bad timing and although I'd be happy if it worked out I should just wait till Friday and see what's what. If it's going to go wrong there's nothing anyone can do about it. So I should just put this whole thing out of my mind u til Friday unless I start bleeding heavily before hand.

Had a scan. Saw pregnancy sac that's all. She said that's what she would expect to see at 5 weeks. All looked normal she said. Wants me back Monday to see more. Is that normal at 5 weeks?

OP posts:
GreenMeerkat · 28/09/2018 13:32

Yes, there's not really a lot to see at 5 week as no HB yet.

Lolly2803 · 28/09/2018 13:48

She said on Monday hopefully see the start of something else like the yolk sac? But who knows!

OP posts:
anitagreen · 28/09/2018 13:57

That's good all I saw at my 5 week scan was a thickened womb lining then by the next week baby was there with a heartbeat Shock

Lolly2803 · 28/09/2018 14:03

Wow amazing!! Yer will see what Monday brings!!

I'm so nervous about tomorrow. Just got a feeling it'll be bad news.

OP posts:
GreenMeerkat · 30/09/2018 17:32

Fingers crossed for you x

Brenna24 · 30/09/2018 22:10

Everything crossed here too. Flowers I had 3 miscarriages, then a successful pregnancy. I spent the whole of that pregnancy expecting the worst. She is nearly 9 months old now.

Lolly2803 · 01/10/2018 16:28

All ok on today's scan. Saw sac had grown and the yolk sac was there. She said all looks great and normal. She could see where the blood was coming from she said she could see a bit at the neck of the womb but said it was fine and wouldn't interfere with the pregnancy. Next scan at 6+4. Should I see a heartbeat then?

OP posts:
anitagreen · 01/10/2018 17:56

Yes you should and good luck x

Brenna24 · 01/10/2018 21:19

Fantastic news. You should, but don;t freak out yet if you don't.

Lolly2803 · 05/10/2018 14:51

Since the Dr said to expect some more brown I've not had any and the cramps have stopped. I've been feeling really sick off and on every day but today I've got a stinking cold but feel fine. No sickness and don't feel pregnant. Should I be worried?

@TokenGinger I understand that you're trying to help but telling someone who's obviously very anxious that their worry will cause a miscarriage will only stress them out more. It's really insensitive.

@Lolly2803 every single pregnant woman will have stresses and I assure you, babies are tough. Stress will not cause a miscarriage unless it's ridiculous (like someone pointing a gun at your head).
During pregnancy, any time my symptoms went away, I completely panicked but they always came back with a vengeance lol. Hormones will ebb and flow so you may feel completely different from day to day.
My biggest regret is that I didn't sit back and enjoy my pregnancy as I was so anxious all the time.
My dd is a healthy 8mo now and I wonder why I spent so much time panicking.

Sit back, relax and enjoy. Your lo will be with you before you know it xxx

I think my post was far from sensitive. I'm reassuring OP that everything that can be okay, is okay, and it's okay for her to relax.

TokenGinger · 06/10/2018 08:37

D'oh. Insensitive* 🙄

It’s incredibly insensitive and hugely inappropriate to tell an anxious woman in early pregnancy that stress will cause her to miscarry. And factually incorrect too.

As someone who has miscarried, if someone tried to insinuate I’d caused it by feeling anxious in early pregnancy I would be incredibly angry.

TokenGinger · 06/10/2018 10:22

OP, I apologise if my post came across as insensitive. I am sure from the tone of my post, you can see it was said with care for you and not intended to be hurtful in any way.

I won't apologise to a bunch of women who jump on anybody just to be unkind, when they of course know the post wasn't said with malice. Ladies, again as above, I'm sure you can see my post was said with care, so no need to be awful with me about it.

At an appointment previously (not this time, I'm too early), I was told that undue stress, pressure, anxiety on the body can heighten the potential for MC so to avoid anything that may cause that. If that's factually incorrect, I'm sorry for sharing that advice with you.

My post was said out of care for you and to reassure you that everything you've posted shows that everything is very positive for you.

I'll leave this post now as I'd hate to cause you any further upset, OP. Wishing you well on your journey xx

TokenGinger · 06/10/2018 10:51

OP, I will also ask for my post to be removed so it doesn't cause any further upset xx
