Did a digital pregnancy test today, Asda's own, and it comes with 2 tests that you click into the reader which says yes or no. I did the first one and it said "yes" so to confirm I did the second one which came back as "no". Do you think I'm pregnant? Hmm

Echo what others have posted.
Drs aren't interested. Just do a test again and if positive then you would see midwife for booking in appt in a few weeks time.
Good luck!

BuntyII · 23/05/2018 10:54

Have you got a FRER yet 👀

MrsLCW · 23/05/2018 11:20

I'm on tenterhooks!! 😍

KimRobs87 · 23/05/2018 11:44

I know, me too! X

Visions of the original poster walking round with sample of FMU searching shops for a frer GrinBlush

Good luck when you test again - and agree definitely not worth wasting a GP appointment for as Drs won't do anything other than what you can do at home.

Negative again Sad

I only had my period 3 weeks ago so maybe I should wait and try again in a week or so.

Def wait until your af is at least due - otherwise you're just going to drive yourself crazy with line eye. There is no way a test at the docs would pick anything up a week before a missed period.

TammySwansonTwo · 23/05/2018 17:16

Yeah, you really do need to wait I’m afraid, even if you have hcg you’ll still get a negative result if it’s not a high enough level for the test. I know it sucks!

louloux · 23/05/2018 17:19

When's best to test if my periods are irregular? Still next week would you say?

OP posts:
TammySwansonTwo · 23/05/2018 17:44

It’s hard to say because if your cycles are very long you may not even have ovulated (most women ovulate two weeks before their next period). How irregular are we talking? I’d wait until at least 4 weeks since the first day of your last period.

louloux · 23/05/2018 17:46

The gap between my last 2 was 1 month but the time before that it was 2 and half months. Never more than 3 months

louloux · 23/05/2018 17:47

Probs why I'm finding it so hard to get pregnant. Although I'm still clinging on to this positive test result, it's probably wrong though Sad

OP posts:
TammySwansonTwo · 23/05/2018 17:59

Have you tried doing ovulation tests? That’s what I did when my cycles were all over the shop.

louloux · 23/05/2018 18:16

No I haven't actually, just lots of you know what 😂 do you get them at the chemist?

OP posts:
TammySwansonTwo · 23/05/2018 18:26

Yep, they’re quite pricey and it’s difficult if you have really irregular long cycles as you’d need to do a lot of tests each cycle, every day until you get a positive. You might find it useful to use a tracking app too.

AmbridgeGirl · 23/05/2018 18:28

I'd suggest ovulation tests in your situation. I have irregular and longer than average cycles and they've really helped me track what's going on. Yes you can get tests at the chemist, such as Clear Blue (expensive but very clear and pretty easy to use) or the famous 'Amazon cheapies' which do the same job but the results can be a bit more difficult to interpret sometimes. Good luck and sorry you didn't get the result you were hoping for this month.

Jennie92p · 23/05/2018 18:38

I've had three very faint positives with clear blue then a negative with a digital test...I'm so confused...I'm due tomorrow..I've had on off spotting the last four days...anyone else had this..I'd upload a picture of the test but dunno how lol xx

MrsLCW · 23/05/2018 18:42

Tap the little paper clip when you go to reply and it should work lovely (if you're on a phone that is).
Good luck! Xx

TammySwansonTwo · 23/05/2018 18:54

Jennie, digital tests require a higher level of hcg than dye tests so it’s not uncommon to get a negative digital before your period is due.

louloux · 23/05/2018 19:48

Good luck Jennie, yours seems more likely to be a positive than mine!

Jennie92p · 23/05/2018 20:12

Hey can't post picture to this thread as I don't have the little paper clip thing to send it lol, am just so confused incase they were false negatives coz I had to squint at first to see them xxx

Zeze247 · 23/05/2018 21:56

You sound like you need to be tracking; ovulation tests, cervical mucus, temps, clear blue fertility monitor.
