Faint positive or imagining things?

Hi Guys,

So I had my son almost 11 months ago now and been on nexplanon for 6 months. The past week or so I've been extremely tired, overly hungry and my boobs have been mega sore. I did a test earlier and I could see the faintest of faint lines. Could be an indent but I've attached a picture to see what you guys think. It's in black and White to make it easier to see. TIA

I took 4 FRERs last week, all negative (I'm on CD2 now!) and all had a faint line that was very obvious when held up against the light. I could tweak them to be pretty clear too. All just bad indents.

Not saying that yours is negative, but I wouldn't trust a FRER if you have to tweak or hold up to light to get a good pic of the line :(

Celebelly · 02/05/2018 17:11

Don't hold it up to the light - there's plastic behind it that gives a shadow when there's light behind.

Laurenmclovely · 02/05/2018 17:43

This is the superdrug test from yesterday and it has an obvious faint line. Yeah I'm learning now that the FRER aren't the greatest

I've attached it in negative colouring as well and you can just about see a faint positive line

It does look like something there. Time will tell. But if you're like me you don't want to wait!!

Laurenmclovely · 02/05/2018 18:00

It's so frustrating! I'm gonna try again on Friday

Can def see it in the Superdrug test though!! Fingers crossed for you!

Laurenmclovely · 02/05/2018 19:23

I knew I wasn't imagining seeing a line! Thank you . Hopefully I get a solid answer on Friday x

Any news?

Evangeline3 · 04/05/2018 01:05

Why don't you take a digital test? Pregnant or not pregnant. Clears it up quickly.

Laurenmclovely · 04/05/2018 07:01

Hey guys, I went to the doctors yesterday he was a bit condescending tbh and said it's highly unlikely that I am pregnant but he sent off for a blood test anyway. Then the CF started going on about my diet and I said that wouldn't cause faint positives though. Anyway , I digress. Should have the results sometime next week. I'm going to get a CB today as well

Hope you get what you want OP

MonaTheMoaner · 04/05/2018 07:06

I can see a line.

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 04/05/2018 07:08

I am queen of early testing and can see a line.

GPs are annoying

owlalwaysloveyou · 05/05/2018 02:44

Can you feel the break in your implant? As if it's not broken it's not going to be releasing the hormones. Hope you get the result you want!

Laurenmclovely · 05/05/2018 06:41

I can't feel a break or anything. I did another test yesterday which was yet again another faint line, but more visible than previously.I know I'm obsessing but it just seems unlikely that I have evap lines in the test zone on so many tests! Just wish these bloods would come back so I know what's what

@Laurenmclovely Why can't you get a digital test to clear it up?

Laurenmclovely · 05/05/2018 10:56

I did one on Wednesday but I think it might be too early as it was saying negative. I've heard loads of women say that CB give false negatives if it's less than 5 weeks which it would be

OP posts:
Evangeline3 · 05/05/2018 11:06

@Laurenmclovely Did you get a clear blue early detection test?
And how come they didn't just test your urine?

Laurenmclovely · 05/05/2018 11:14

It was the double check test kits, which I believe works from 5 days before missed period. It was afternoon time so that might have had an effect. Because I'm on the implant he said a blood test would be more effective at detecting hcg because he thinks I'm imagining things basically

OP posts:
Evangeline3 · 05/05/2018 11:24

@Laurenmclovely Oh the early detection kit would've worked fab!
Although mine was picked up from 4 weeks, 5 weeks should be fine but you never know.

Laurenmclovely · 05/05/2018 11:30

If I am PG it would be four weeks today. I guess they work for some ladies and not for others

owlalwaysloveyou · 05/05/2018 19:35

You should be able to feel the break. It's not huge and crooked but you should feel that it's not completely smooth or straight. That seems to be the only times people have fell pregnant with implant so I'd definetely have that checked out. Perhaps ask someone else to feel as dh couldn't feel the break (3 implants over 9 years) but I always could.

Laurenmclovely · 06/05/2018 07:41

@owlalwaysloveyou see I never knew that. I always wondered how a little plastic stick could release hormones. Now I know.

If you need to squint, filter, stand on one leg to see a line then just consider it negative and test again in a few days. On most tests you can see an indent line if you look hard enough. Both times I've been pregnant there was an unmistakable line.
