I will be 43 in 10 days.
Had a failed IVF attempt last year - only got one follicle 2 months running.
Periods have started to be irregular.

DH seems to think I could get PG tomorrow if I lost weight. (He has v. low sperm count and is impotent which doesn't exactly help matters).

Views oh wise ones???

My fertility treatments were dependent on FSH levels. If levels are higher, you are closer to menopause and thus less likely to conceive/more likely to miscarry. However, levels vary month to month. I'd start with finding out that number - which can be obtained from a blood test.

There are always exceptions, but I was told that fertility drops dramatically at 35, again at 42, and success over 45 (even with IVF/fertility drugs) is unusual unless you have an egg donor.
