Scared to test

This is our 6th cycle TTC and finally this month I've had a lot of convincing symptoms including cramping (which I normally never get), exhaustion and very sore breasts amongst many others. AF, who has only ever been late once by 1 day, is due today and hasn't shown up yet which is unusual as she normally arrives in the morning.

Anyway, of course my hopes are rising by the hour. I'm trying to psych myself up to test in the morning if still no AF but I'm so scared of a BFN. I have a clear blue early response and I mentioned to DP I will use it in the morning but he said I should wait a bit longer before testing as it's too soon. Surely a test would be pretty accurate the day after missed AF? The not knowing is killing me but I'm so nervous. Think I just need to put my big girl pants on and do it. I'm being ridiculous aren't I?

@biscay there wasn't for Friday with mine but was there for Saturday. You ain't out until you're out! X

6 months is not long in the ttc world. It's totally average for it to take up to a year or so.

I get your frustration though - the highs and lows! The constant waiting and wishing your life away. I get it. I've been doing that 22 months.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 14/01/2018 10:39

I hear ya @physicskate. When I was trying for a few months I reminded myself that there's people who've been trying for 6 months. Now I'm there myself, I am in awe of people who have been trying for longer! Flowers

@wifeymcwifeface1104 Thanks. I ovulate around cd17 in a 27 day cycle so do have a short LP. So still not too far after ovulation. Maybe there hasn't been enough time to show up on a test yet or maybe wishful thinking. I'm just never late for AF. Sometimes early but never late. I wonder if you can want to be pregnant so much that you trick your body into not having a period!

I've just looked at my test again in the cold light of day. Am I imagining this or is there a slight tinge of a line? Could be evap I guess. I'm not sure if the line was there this morning when I tested as I looked in semi-light.

I'd hate to raise your hopes unnecessarily, but I think I can see the line. Do you have another brand to test with and read within the timeframe? A Frer for example?

zooz · 14/01/2018 11:51

I can see a very faint line. I would advise getting an FRER and testing again.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 14/01/2018 11:52

@Bubblesblue Thanks - I think I will wait a few days and get a pink dye FRER...

I see a line too. Id be down to boots now getting a FRER if i was you Smile

BrutusMcDogface · 14/01/2018 11:56

I see a hint of a line! Everything crossed for you, op! Flowers

Isadora2007 · 14/01/2018 11:58

There is a line. But as it is later then I wouldn’t get your hopes up in case it is an evap line.
In saying that, the positive CB tests I saw last week got lighter after a few hours not darker. And the negative one (done by a man!) definitely did not develop into a positive! So... I’m tentatively hopeful for you.

cindersrella · 14/01/2018 12:03

I do see a line there. Fingers and toes crossed for you 😀

MyKingdomForBrie · 14/01/2018 12:04

You can do a pink dye FRER now, at least you would know for certain. I got FReR pos days before a clear blue pos.

Peanutty86 · 14/01/2018 12:15

I can see a line, but as others have said... blue dye can be tricky.
I have to say you're incredibly patient not running out to get a FRER and test again!!

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 14/01/2018 12:17

I've had 2 cups of tea. Would it still show on a pink dye? Would be very dilute.

Hold your wee a while and test with an frer. I always got stronger test results later in the day than i ever did with fmu.

Tissunnyupnorth · 14/01/2018 13:06

Good luck!

Hollymchollyface · 14/01/2018 13:54

I think if you can wait 4hrs since last wee that should be strong enough to test. Good luck !

Peanutty86 · 14/01/2018 14:02

I was the same as @NoWittyNamesAvailable , always stronger later on in the day which was confusing.
