Sorry to hear about the pcos but glad the clomid is shortening your cycle

pussycatmomma · 16/05/2007 19:25

yes, I am hoping the cycle shortening is indicative of ovulation.
Shorter cycles are good....a bfp would be better though!

Hi Bellabear, far too early to say for Scorpio and I. If mine is a pregnancy it is only 3 weeks and 6 days old! Mrs McJnr is properly pg though How are you?

Got my fingers crossed firmly for you. I got a "pregnant" result on clearblue digital this morning. Now just have to keep fingers crossed that is viable.

MrsMcJnr · 17/05/2007 14:46

Plummy - I did the same test this morning that I did last Thurs and the line was much stronger and clearer Hope the same is true for you!

Hey PCM - fingers crossed hon xx

plummymummy · 17/05/2007 17:22

Good news Mrs McJ I haven't retested with the cheapies yet. Will do tomorrow. Don't know how strong the line would be at 4 weeks gestation though. You are a couple of weeks ahead of me (due on my birthday).

nh101 · 17/05/2007 23:30

Hi there, can I join? I am CD23 but only think I OV'd two days ago (second cycle after MC) so am on two week wait (thinking it might be two weeks yesterday before AF would be due - no idea what my cycle is)

I so hope I get PG this time, don't know how I will cope if I don;t.

is anyone alse expecting AF/BFP around May 30?

plummymummy · 18/05/2007 09:08

Did another cheapie test today and the line is much stronger (though still not as strong as the control line). I am only 4 weeks pg though.

Hi everyone

Am Mumsnet virgin but am agonising in the 2ww and thought I would join you! Am on CD 20, 9DPO and broke all my own rules and tested this morning - BFN. Stupid stupid stupid cow. Got seduced by the stats on the back of the Clearblue box saying could get positive 4 days before period due but in fact is 6 days till period due so even more stupid than first confessed! Boots should be forced to demand evidence of cycle day before they will allow you to buy one! Was convinced would be +ve as several pg symptoms and great temps. Husband had a go at me too, so then I cried and all in all not good start to the day.

Congrats to all the BFPs and empathy to all the waiters!

Right - am sick of not knowing if I've ovulated or not. CD 16 - Could have been yesterday, could be right now, could be next week... As this is only my second cycle after m/c, hormones are all the place and might have longer cycle so might have jumped the gun with this week's shagathon
So think next month am going to have into get into this temping lark - just so I know when to stop BD-ing!!
Can anyone help me out and explain in idiot's terms? Have I got this right?

  1. I use digital thermometer first thing in the morning
  2. Temp goes up suddenly telling you HAVE ovulated not that you are ABOUT to
  3. Temp stays high and falls just before AF

What's the best way to record temp? I noticed some ladies seem to doing it on websites? Are these free? Which is the best one?

I'm presuming there's no point starting temping now, you have to wait till CD1??

nh101 · 18/05/2007 11:04

Hi there super signing mum. pmsl at the Boots thing. I think I am 3dpo but not sure, could be 10dpo and think I will test on Sunday - what the hell they only cost about 40p each.

basilbrush · 18/05/2007 11:10

Oops!!! how rude of me!
Just realised I posted on wrong thread...
Anyway - hello! {waves}
If anyone could give any advice, that would be great

nh101 · 18/05/2007 11:35

Hi basil you seem to be in same position to me - I didn't know either when OV'd but got pretty clear EWCM three days ago so keep going you will get there. I also think I used up good sperm by BDing too early!!

supersigningmum · 18/05/2007 12:15

Hi Basilbrush

Yes you have the hang of the temping basics. Key things are:

  • take temp via same route every day eg orally, vaginally, rectally
  • take immed upon waking before peeing, drinking or even rolling over to give other half a cuddle!
  • take at same time every day within about half an hour
  • temp rise occurs day after ovulation usually. Temp staying high for 3 days confirms ov has taken place

-temp usually drops again just before AF or as AF starts

  • in some women temp makes second rise when preg - usually after implantation
  • can just record on paper chart - you can download free ones from www.fertilityuk.org or can do online for free. I like www.fertilityfriend.com for this

Good luck!

basilbrush · 18/05/2007 12:23

thanks super
have signed up to fertility friend and will be getting free lessons via email on how to chart apparently - ooh er
this means I should have figured out what to do by next month!

supersigningmum · 18/05/2007 14:54

NH101 - where do you get tests for 40p each and are they any good?

supersigningmum · 18/05/2007 14:56

Basil Brush - forgot to say there is a point in starting temping even if not on CD1 because you will (a) get the hang of it before your new cycle starts and (b) get a feel for where your normal range of temps are.

nh101 · 18/05/2007 17:36

cheap tests

nh101 · 18/05/2007 17:39

Did that work?

www.accessdiagnostictests.co.uk/

They are £4 for 20, they are not the exact same ones I have but they are similar. You put a cardboard stick in a cup and leave it for five mins

Worked alright for me when I got my BFP in Jan (got one BFN the week before that) so I've only used two so far.

Pretty easy to use tho

nh101 · 18/05/2007 17:43

Sorry got that completely wrong they are not £4 for 20 I was looking at the wrong bit. Look for professional pregnancy tests - they are £5.40 for 25 or £12.99 for 50

supersigningmum · 20/05/2007 12:30

Thanks for info about pg tests - will have a look. Am hanging in there at 11DPO and have not repeated shameful behaviour of other day though was mightily tempted to escape watchful eye of DH yesterday and hit the ladies loo at Boots with a secret stash of tests! Luckily the weather here was great so we ended up going out for the day and by time got back the opportunity for stealth visits to the chemist had passed. Temp is still sky high and having occasional AF like cramps - thing is I never usually get those till AF actually arrives so fingers crossed there is indeed some activity down below. Last time I got pg I think I tested positive on 12 DPO so maybe tomorrow would be a good day ... How are you others doing?

Genidef · 20/05/2007 12:51

Can I join? I'm kind of waiting (although not convinced about this month). If fails, am going for HSG next month. But you never know!
