Hi there! I’m having symptoms of early pregnancy - ridiculously early. Nausea, headaches, dizziness, cramps and painful nipples like bullets! Just taken a test 5 days before period is due and got a negative. Have you heard of ladies getting fake symptoms?

Like other ladies have said, you aren’t experiencing pregnancy symptoms. I’m not entirely sure how a GP would test to see if you had a bug or not. But for argument’s sake let’s say they do, then it could be a number of other things that’s causing you to vomit. Reflux for example. Also just an fyi, I’ve had that sickness bug that does the rounds every winter and I was vomiting water that hadn’t even gone down my throat yet. I know you said that you don’t think it’s to do with pregnancy but the title of your post suggests that’s what you do think/hope. It’s entirely possible you are pregnant but the symptoms you’re experiencing now are nothing to do with it I’m afraid. If you had pregnancy symptoms that severe, you’d already be getting positive hpt’s. Hope you feel better soon!

Morning! After a lovely restful weekend with my boys I am back at work and feeling nauseous again. It comes in waves - not constant but not connected to eating - ate two wonderful evening meals over the weekend and was not sick at all. When I was sick before it was a tiny mouthful not emptying my stomach. I was really hopeful that it had gone but it seems that lie ins are the cure for it. Boobs are markedly bigger - so much so a colleague mentioned it (very ok - we are good friends!!!). They are sore and heavy. Also feel like I have chewed on a penny all night. Still getting sharp abdomen pains every now and again.
Bit of background - I've come off the pill to get myself ready to start TTC. We were planning to start in the new year so if I was it would be much sooner than we planned. I would be happy with a positive test but not expecting one. I'm 38 and have never had any PMS like this so that's why I asked the original question. I've got some serious food intolerance so am very in tune with my stomach. I know this is not a bug.
I've decided to wait and test over the weekend if it doesn't show when it's due on Thursday. Thanks everyone for taking the time to write :)

Hi OP, just to say that coming off the pill can screw with your body big-time!! I came off it in August after over 2 years on it from having had my daughter (had been on it 6 years prior to having my daughter). The month of August I felt all sorts of symptoms, including nausea which I'd never had as PMS before. It made me wonder if i'd fallen pregnant already but i hadn't. I had a 36 day cycle (was previously 28 days) and then my natural period came. But I did have all sorts of waves of nausea etc which was weird for me pre-AF. So it could be that your body is just adjusting to coming off the pill and you will soon get your natural AF.

This many days ahead of when your period is due, it's very likely that what you're experiencing is hormonal imbalance from coming off the pill. It can be similar to pregnancy symptoms but pregnancy symptoms this strong would come with a positive test.

Now it all makes sense. Coming off the pill can play ABSOLUTE havoc with your body. I bloated, had pains, cramping, sore boobs, back ache. Everything. It might be that your period doesn’t turn up on time either. I waited 50 days. Good luck!

Franyjayne · 23/10/2017 11:15

Been off it over three months and thought I’d settled and had my first normal period but that could be it. We shall see!!

Also realised the test I took was only four days before missed period so taking it on Saturday was massively jumping the gun 🙄

Oh gosh, coming off birth control is a nightmare! I had terrible symptoms the first 6 months. My boobs would get huge and I couldn’t wear a normal bra because they hurt so much. I felt awful. I would say that that’s 100% the reason for you feeling like crap

Franyjayne · 23/10/2017 19:56

Sounds like that’s what it is. Only one thing that’s bothering me is that I’m totally not wanting wine (or any other booze) and I loooove the wine!!

Going to have a glass tonight with the girls and see how it goes! 🍷
