Hi all
Not sure if this is wishful thinking, if I'm going mad or if I'm just grasping at straws. I had a mc in January - I had terrible pregnancy symptoms - so sick every day, indigestion and feeling sick from two weeks before my missed period etc. I had a really strong BFP the day after period due. After mc I had complications and it took about two months to complete - periods returned to normal
A month later. Fast forward to July - I've had all the same symptoms - but period isn't due until Thursday. Constant indigestion, feeling sick etc. Logically I know it's too early for symptoms but they were there the first time and I'm convinced they're there now. However / my period started Friday - a week early. It isn't as heavy as previous months, but I've googled the implantation bleeding and it's heavier than that. I've done a test but it's negative - which I expected because it's too early to test. I'm so confused. Am I mad? Is it possible? Is something else wrong with me that is producing all these symptoms? Has anyone ever had anything like this that turned out to be a BFP? Should I test again?

When would AF be due? Maybe test just after that.

Thursday - that's what I was thinking. But then another part of my brain is thinking - don't be stupid. It's not possible. It's just projecting the symptoms and it must be something else ... I mean - people don't have periods when they're pregnant do they?

My friend's 7 year old would be proof that you can still have 'periods' when pregnant!

Hugepeppapigfan · 06/08/2017 22:07

I bled during pregnancy. Like periods. But I had had an early positive before the first bleed. Hope it works out for you.

Really peppa? Was it like a normal period? I started on Friday and it got heavier, but it's starting to ease off now so I'm thinking I might finish tomorrow - that's a normal four days. Everything I read online said light bleeding for one to two days... if I am - I'm not prepared. We weren't exactly trying, but we missed using prot croon a few times. So I haven't been taking the folic acid and I had a couple of drinks before I connected the symptoms up - so I'm worried that maybe I am and I'm not doing the things I should be doing. It's all really confusing. Is it too late to take the folic acid only once you get a BFP? I'm quite overweight and 35 so I know all these things are risk factors too - we have been speaking about TTC but thought we would aim for the end of the year - I've been losing weight etc so I wanted to get my weight down before we proceeded. You hear so many horror stories online about being old and fat I guess. But we would be thrilled if it did happen this soon too

My 5 year old is evidence that you can! I had 'periods' all the way through my second pregnancy. Only the first one was anything out of the ordinary - bit lighter than normal and lasted 3 days rather than 5. Other than that I had no sign of pregnancy until I developed a small bump at about 26 weeks. Honestly! I was on the pill and my consultant said that it may have been this which caused withdrawal bleeding, but that it was very unusual.

Best surprise ever btw though it was rather stressful at the time Grin

Roomba · 06/08/2017 22:23

I wouldn't have described the implantation bleeds I had with my surprise second or my not so surprise first as light bleeding. Both times it was very period like, I absolutely thought I was miscarrying with my first as I'd had a BFP a few days beforehand.

My friends found out she was pregnant at 6 and a half months. She had periods all the way through so definitely possible.

I discovered I was pregnant with second baby at 6m - had regular periods all along and no other sign of pregnancy.
Had just had IVF baby after 5 m/c and issues with infertility. DDs are 14m apart - it does happen !

Hi all.

Thanks - I've pretty much stopped bleeding now, so I think I'll take a test to be sure on Thursday. At least I don't think I'm crazy anymore!
