How long were you ttc? Which tests did you have? Over what space of time.

Congrats on your bfp...

Bex15 · 05/08/2017 14:30

Ttc since my last MC (almost a year and a half), I had tests done straight after the MC as they knew something wasn't right (I've had gynaecological issues since I was 11years old)

Tests---

Ovarian biopsy
Fallopian tube biopsy
3 laperoscopies
Partners sperm count, movement etc
My hormone levels via blood test
I had a lot of ultrasound scans and MRI scans

These were done over a period of a year, I've had previous tests done throughout my childhood because of medical conditions which have also involved biopsies of my ovaries, tubes and womb, scans, I had part of right ovary removed due to a poisonous cyst

Congratulations!!!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/08/2017 17:13

Is 19 years old a typo? I'm not judging or trying to be snarky about it if not, I'm just genuinely surprised that a 17 year old can access fertility treatment

LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/08/2017 17:17

And either way, congratulations, of course!

passmethewine123 · 05/08/2017 17:34

@LisaSimpsonsbff if she is 19 I think perhaps she was able to get treatment because of her gynaecological problems as a child?

passmethewine123 · 05/08/2017 17:35

Congratulations @Bex15 what a wonderful surprise for you ❤️

talonofthehawk · 05/08/2017 17:36

Congratulations, you are so deserving of this. Bless you.

Bex15 · 05/08/2017 17:39

Lisa - no I am 19 and I got the treatment because of the issues I had as a child, plus when I was a child they knew my ovaries weren't functioning properly and that they'd of stopped completely by the time I was 22/23 (like a woman in menopause). After the MC my gyny realised that there was more going on so the fertility tests were also part of the investigations continuing from childhood.

I've had the same gyny since I was 11 so instead of treating the fertility as something different she considered it to be ongoing investigations

Hope this helps ☺️

Doesn't sound as if she had fertility treatment, just investigative surgery and tests due to longstanding issues.

Congratulations!!! Thanks

talonofthehawk · 05/08/2017 17:43

Lovely OP, are you hoping for a boy or a girl? Congratulations again, I am so pleased for you.

Bex15 · 05/08/2017 17:45

@talonofthehawk - I'd love a little girl! But happy and healthy is perfect for me! My OH would love a boy!

talonofthehawk · 05/08/2017 20:41

Op are you ok? People were awful to you on your Aibu thread- do you need to talk? X

Bee1502 · 05/08/2017 21:00

Thank you everyone!

@talonofthehawk I didn't realise people could be so awful, I've been in a right state but I really appreciated your support so thank you for that, I can't thank you enough x

talonofthehawk · 05/08/2017 21:16

It's ok- you don't need to thank me.
Grown women circling a vunerable, pregnant 19 year old is shameful.
Stay strong, your baby feels what you feel. x

Bee1502 · 05/08/2017 21:23

@talonofthehawk it just felt like no matter how much I tried to explain myself, they jumped down my throat even more. I've had 2 men private message saying that they seen the post and they'd be ashamed to think that their partners would ever talk to someone like that, and that they thought women would have more sympathy than men

I posted the same thread on BabyCentre and the support was unbelievable and loads of young mums said they'd been in the same position and had people say things to them or their family x
