extreme horniness as an early sign of pregnancy

Has anyone experienced this? Makes no biological sense - if bun is already in the oven then what's the point of feeling horny. Although saying that I was very horny when pregnant first time...

I don't think I've had this in early pregnancy. But it makes very good sense, biologically.

Essentially, in humans, and other primates, babies are often killed by men other than their biological father (so the mother will become fertile again, and then they can impregnate her). If a woman is in early pregnancy, in an environment in which killing babies is easy, then it is in her (and her baby's) best interest that she shag pretty much anyone she can find at this point.

Certainly this sort of behaviour is seen in monkeys etc. As is the baby-killing behaviour.
