Hi

Hope someone can help!

I need to find a therapist for my friend who has unexplained infertility. She has had all the tests that show no problems with her or her hubbie.

I feel for her soooooooo much and cant imagine how she feels, she has been trying for two years and is 38.

I have read quite a bit about acupuncture and we have noticed quite alot of centres around but dont know their success rate with fertility.

Can anyone please suggest one or tell me their experience of acupunture and how many treatments they had?

Thank you!

Try British Acupuncture Council to find a practitioner who is registered and qualified with the Governing Body.

My cousin used this place for acupuncture for a while as well as talking to them about her overall health and diet after trying for a couple of years and they now have a little girl. HTH

Hi,

I've used acupuncture during my IVF cycles. There are 2 practitioners in London who are particularly well known for treating fertility patients with a high degree of success. I went to Daniel Elliott and his team at www.londonacupuncture.co.uk.

The other one is Gerard Kite, sorry don't have his web address.

Both are registered with the British Acupuncture Council so you can get GK's details from their web site.

Hope this helps.

I had acupuncture with Gerad Kite for about 18 months in 2002 - 2003. After about a year my husband agreed to go too and after the last session with both of us in Jan 03 I got pregnant. Unfortunately I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks but getting pregnant seemed to kick-start my system and I got pregnant in July. My daughter will be 3 in April!

I carried on seeing Gerad through my pregnancy because having regular acupuncture made me feel good.

I would recommend Gerad to anyone (although I'm not sure you'd get to see him as he's very busy these days - I'm sure his team are all very good though). His website is www.kiteclinic.co.uk

Maybe too late for this now, but you could try Josephine at the Health Works in Walthamstow. But she also practices in other locations and (probably) will come to your house.

I would also recommend Gerad Kite. I had an initial consultation with him, and then have been treated by one of his colleagues - Kim - since then. I had treatments throughout my 1st cycle of IVF and got pregnant 1st time. I felt the acupuncture really helped, and I still go now (22 weeks pregnant). Would really recommend this clinic - check out their website, which has lots of "infertility" success stories.

I am reading the Zita west book on getting pg, and she has a clinic in London and carries out acupuncture and other holistic treatments specifically geared for fertility. Pricey but maybe worth splurging?

Hi, my acupuncturist is Charlotte Steed but she is a TCM fertility acupuncturist unlike Gerad Kite and has been instrumental on my fertility journey. I have had fertility acupuncture on and off for years with Charlotte, to seek acupuncture to help conceive my first and second child initially.

She is lovely, always happy to answer questions, listen to my wows, but most of all give me amazing acupuncture that works!

She has treated my husbands headaches, my best friends irregular cycle and my daughters upset stomach. A true all-rounder but an expert to help baby making. Totally recommend acupuncture with Charlotte to anyone with fertility struggles.

Hi All,
Please do try to avoid this lady accupuncturist called Charlotte Steed who works with London Accupuncture and also runs a clinic in Blackheath. She is very business minded and has no respect for people who have unpredictable IVF schedules. She doesn't even remember the patient history and mistakes different patients as others with different history. Try to avoid CHARLOTTE STEED ACCUPUNCTURIST if you can! She charged me £400 in just two weeks and no impact whatsoever.
