Hi all - can someone pls help me with OPKs? My cycle is 34-44 days average 36. Im getting nothing positive from the OPK sticks, and the Glow app is therefore delaying when it thinks I'm ovulating

Do the OPK tests always get the LG surge? Im testing twice a day

This is my first cycle TTC - but I have done the OPKs six months ago when considering TTC, and I did get two lines

Also, if you get a positive result when is best to DTD

Sorry for some simple questions - I'm really bad with science (send me your HR queries though!). I don't want to tell my friends I'm TTC, so hoping for some advice here

Many thanks

Hi anaconda!! It's possible you could miss your surge if it was overnight I suppose.

What cycle day are you currently and what time do you test?

If you get a positive it is thought you will ovulate 12-36 hours later. So this month I got a positive on Sunday and Monday and had ovulation cramps and pains on Tuesday evening.

We dtd every other day from about cd8 and I didn't ovulate til cd21. I personally think if you dtd the day you get positive opk you are covered but doesn't hurt to do it the next few days too!

We dtd cd20 and ovulated cd21 so hopefully covered!! Will find out in a few days, was the same time frame with ds and it worked then so hopefully will work again!

Ps you mentioned you got two lines before but just to confirm test line has to be as dark as or darker than control line to count as a positive, I got a faint line every day.

Emma2803 · 21/04/2017 07:27

I caved 😳 barely there faint line appeared so I am no better off, could be anything. might as well not have bothered!!
Not even dark enough for my phone to pick up in a photo! 🙄

Hotpinkangel19 · 21/04/2017 08:05

That's how my bfp started off though @Emma2803!! It could definitely be the start of something!!! X

Emma2803 · 21/04/2017 09:33

It was there within the time frame. The test says test as soon as possible after 3 mins, I did it at 7.47, went to get dressed and when I came back at 7.51 it was there. But just so faint and grey.
It's the first time I've done a frer. I have used all but one of my one step cheapies and they are always white as the driven snow!!! I've never saw an evaporation line before but all the chat about them makes me nervous! Lol. Should have just waited!

Sazwest · 21/04/2017 12:07

Well I'm finally home 🙂. Haven't managed to get to a shop yet but I've stared spotting so not sure if it's the start of AF it's light pinkish ( I would be due AF 23rd) xxx

Hi Saz, hope you had a lovely holiday and hope that af is not on her way!!

Sazwest · 21/04/2017 12:27

@Emma2803 yes it was lovely glad to be home just not glad with the mountains of washing lol. Think it might be ( unless it's implantation) but that would be late as I'm due as 23rd x x

Thanks so much Emma

Im currently cycle day 24 and have been testing since cycle day 14 morning and evening

I'm thinking if this cycle is 44 days as some have been i may not have ovulated yet. Or I've missed it. Or, I'm not ovulating.

DTD every other day, or every three days (BF avail!)

Understood re the lines, thanks

Hotpinkangel19 · 21/04/2017 13:42

@Anaconda33 I think I ovulated on CD24. I'm 6DPO today

Emma2803 · 21/04/2017 13:49

Anaconda would you consider doin basal body temp too? It might help if you feel you might be missing your surge?

Sazwest · 21/04/2017 13:52

I'm gonna buy a clear blue ovulation thing for next month xx
