Encouraging AF along

Hi

I've recently stopped birth control and have heard horror tales of AF taking a vast amount of time to return to her monthly job. That said today I've had very mild cramping/pressure in my lower belly... spread out across it.

Going from my withdrawal I'm due AF in the next few days but I had little hope of her being on time. With the cramps (and horrific moods I've been swinging from today) I think she might actually appear.

I've heard a warm bath can encourage her along, anyone know any truth in that or have any other ways to help?

I was on birth control for 11 years with a gap in middle but was very regular before.

Thanks

well I'm now CD 20, going from my last blood discharge (from proper withdraw I'm CD 33) and got 3 positive ovulation tests, one in pm on CD 18 and then in am and pm of CD 19. So I'm hoping that AF will make an appearance in next two or so weeks... or get a BFP (unlikely!) Today I'm super gassy Blush with cramps and a constant full feeling in my belly. I suspect I have the start of thrush or cystitis Blush from too much DTD

FX for you. This whole unknown thing is super frustrating

I found agnus castus good for regulating my cycle after coming off bc

buzzmoon · 14/01/2017 11:50

Well after a whole week of horrible bloating, gas and nausea, AF arrived this morning! 21 days after coming off. Good luck girls!

KittyKat73 · 16/01/2017 15:45

I have seen alot of people on here mention Agnus castus i think ill get some when i eventually get my AF!

Currently on CD 46 all last week i had lower cramping pain so definitely thought it was going to appear at any second but still waiting. Done another test this morning just to be sure and its a BFN.

Angry Angry

FX that those still waiting on AF have a BFP for the reason :)

I do wish there was like a physical egg timer that counted down to the day!
I have had 2 hot baths, a trampoline exercise class and even wore my nicest knickers trying to get AF to make an appearance. just adds extra stress but never thought i would see the day i was wanting a period haha.

OnNaturesCourse · 16/01/2017 17:54

...and stress just makes it worse, it's a nightmare

I was on either microgynon (evil) or Yasmin for a combination of 10+ and got mine back straight into 28 days after my withdrawal bleed, like you I was terrified it would take 6m+. Try not to stress too much about it, 🤞🏻 For yoj

OnNaturesCourse · 22/02/2017 21:30

I had a 30 day first cycle.. Pretty normal. This month... Nada. 😡

Hi ladies- totally new to this so forgive me if I get anything wrong. I came of cerelle beginning of Dec had my first AF on Dec 26th then next Jan 23 now am 3 days late and had 4 BFN 😩 Have had low back ache and cramps on and off for about 2 weeks, so tired heavy boobs! Just so frustrated... what's going on 😳

OnNaturesCourse · 25/02/2017 13:02

Hi. Was the first period your withdraw bleed from the pill?

OP posts:
Lfletch · 25/02/2017 14:25

Hi I don't think so, it was a full on AF. Still have back ache, weird tingly in my boobs. Cried twice this morning 🤦🏼‍♀️ still no AF.

sk1pper · 26/02/2017 12:38

Girls as far as I know raspberries are fine. It's the green leaves that are the problem and that's what is used in the tea. xx

Hi there, just thought I'd add my 10c:

After I stopped BF my second I had crazy spotting throughout the month, I'd still get a period but then have intermittent spotting for anywhere from 5-15 days of the month. My doc recommended trying a pill but that had no effect and then my friend recommended trying Vitex Agnus Castus or Chaste Berry. I took a massive dose of that (6a day) and it stopped the spotting and restarted my cycle. But I didn't realise it restarted my cycle so instead of getting my period I ovulated (I thought we were in the safe zone 😝) So now I'm pregnant with #3!

I started taking it on the 4th Dec and by the 14th I had ovulated. I should have gotten my period on the 16th. The bottle says to take up to 6 tablets a day, so I took 6! I was so fed up of the spotting. Haha but it's a happy mistake.

Jessybear90 · 02/03/2017 19:56

Just out of interest, how can you tell the difference between a "withdrawal" bleed and a normal period? My periods have been regular since the day instarted and all 12 years I was on the pill, I had a bleed at the same time AF was due, and now I'm off the pill (only been off a few weeks) I have had one bleed, again, regular as clockwork, but how can you even tell if it's a "withdrawal" or a true period?

I stopped a pack about two weeks before period was due, and the period still came two weeks later, I didn't bleed straight after coming off.

Natures, what I find aways helps me to encourage AF is doing plenty of exercise!

Think about it, when does your flow because less heavy? Well for me it's when I'm asleep through the night but as soon as I'm up and moving AF gets going haha.

Maybe try power walking, that should get everything flowing nicely. Exercise during you actual period too also helps with the cramps etc. Let us know how you progress x

OnNaturesCourse · 03/03/2017 00:00

Withdrawal is your "period" on the pill, and your first after you stop. The pill stops real periods and you get a withdrawal bleed from the pill instead.

I'm on my second cycle post pill, first cycle was 28 days. I'm now on CD37 with 4 BFN's and had brown spotting the past two days. So frustrating!

Jessybear90 · 03/03/2017 12:28

Thanks Natures,

I have only been off the pill for a couple of weeks and had a withdrawal bleed. Does that mean that my next bleed will be a true period?

Are you any further on and coaxing AF out? X

Littleonek · 04/03/2017 18:29

Hi all

I stopped my contraception pills in january 2017 had a withdrawal bleed and since then no period for two months.

I trried the clearblue ovulation digial tests and as expected (according to my App called Life my ovalutation is meant to start picking up) my test showed a rise in LH depsite not having a period in February. So it shows you can still ovulate without having a period. Hopefully I might get a normal period this month.
