I think period is 3-4 days late - not sure as dd is only 10 months & my periods only restarted 3 months ago & have been slightly irregular.

Bought a 2 pack of Boots tests & did one in cafe toilet because I couldn't wait till I got home. There was the faintest blue vertical line, but decided I was imagining things. Both previous pregnancies obvious +ve results.

Stuck the test back in its wrapper & in my bag because I really wasn't sure. Over the next half hour a still faint, but definite line developed - BUT now I've read that you can get a false +ve if it's more than 10 minutes since you did the test?

...should I hold off doing the other test from the pack till the morning? Not sure I can!

yes I would (well I would think its the right thing to do but might not be able to wait)

the hormones it picks up more present in your first moring pee so if you can I would wait

FurryFox · 16/02/2007 20:41

I would wait until the morning but would also think if there was a line when you first tested, regardless of how faint it was, then you probably are pg.

eekaline · 16/02/2007 20:47

I know, I know. I just feel such a berk.

First I ring dh 'I've done a test, but I'm pretty sure it's -ve. Can you remember when I was on last?'...

...then I ring him back 'Oooh, it's gone blue now!'

Poor sod arrives home in a state of shellshock at the prospect of #3, only to be greeted by me telling him 'Well, it says on t'internet that's not actually a valid result...'

Not that it wouldn't be lovely - it's just that I won't sleep for not blooming knowing now!

Yeah it's a pain but like Rhino said, wee is strongest first thing in the morning so might have more of a chance of being positive.

Have you got another test?

eekaline · 16/02/2007 20:53

Yep. It's on the shelf in front of me shouting 'Wee on me! You know you want to!'

Been there myself. Then as soon as you do it and it's negative you wish you hadn't done it

If you think it might put your mind at rest then test - I know I would

FurryFox · 16/02/2007 21:00

Londonlottie is right - ignore my advice. I'm just getting impatient for you now

eekaline · 16/02/2007 21:09

Bloody HELL.

Done 2nd test (you knew I would!) & no vertical line OR line in the control window. Batch of duff tests maybe?

Can't think it's anything I'm doing wrong - both times have held stick in stream for 5 seconds, result within seconds 1st time - no result AT ALL this time.

FurryFox · 16/02/2007 21:14

Arghh how annoying. Have you got another test you could do in the morning? Sorry, not trying to encourage you even more

eekaline · 16/02/2007 21:16

No - never needed more than one before! (In fact I've only ever bought one twin pack before - the spare test was dug out of a drawer when we suspected dd was on the way!)

Trip to Tescos in the morning then! Bugger bugger bugger

FurryFox · 16/02/2007 21:31

I got 17 cheapy ones from ebay last month because I am a terrible tester am hoping I won't need to use them all though but you never know.

Good luck for tomorrow (that is if you want to be pg ) and let us know how you get on

amidaiwish · 16/02/2007 21:42

with DD1 i did a test and it was a very faint blue line...
then did one later that day and it was negative, nothing, zip
then did one before i went to bed and again, nothing.
the next morning: big fat blue vertical!

so, esp if you drink lots of water etc you must wait until the morning!! let us know but i'd be amazed if it wasn't positive

NOpe. If the control window doesnt owrk then its a duff test, isnt it?

airy · 17/02/2007 02:04

I'd say it is a duff test, but I don't know that they'd refund you for it tbh. For all they know you could have messed it up and done it wrong?
Although how anyone could ever get weeing on a stick wrong is beyond me

amidaiwish · 17/02/2007 10:08

well?
what's the result this morning??

FurryFox · 17/02/2007 10:11

Was just about to ask the same thing

eekaline · 17/02/2007 10:22

IT'S POSITIVE!

Not exactly planned (ds is 2.6 & dd 10 months) & my boss is going to go APE - but yay yay yay!
