Anyone come off the pill before the end of the pack?

I know it's best not to but just wondered if anyone has started ttc before they've finished a full pack :) x

I didn't - but only because I wanted to track my cycle. Did that for 3 months and have only just started trying (first month ttc and current 2dpo!!) If you have already come off the pill mid month, I would get yourself some OPKs and start testing a week or so later... and plenty of TTC of course! Good luck x

I've only got 2 pills left now, was just wondering if anyone had stopped before the end of there pack and what consequences it had, just out of curiosity really!

I stopped my pill packet about 1 week before it was due to finish. I had my withdrawal bleed on stopping as I would expect, and my cycle went straight back to normal afterwards.
I think if you stop the packet towards the end then it is unlikely to affect your cycle, especially if you've only got 2 pills left.
If you stopped earlier then there would be a chance that you could get pregnant from unprotected sex earlier in the cycle.

Suppose 2 doesn't really matter does it but I wouldn't want it to mess things up with there only been 2 left x

What dire consequences do you think there would be from stopping mid pack?

It can severely mess with your cycles, you won't know when you're ovulating, and it can shock your body into producing hormones when it shouldn't. It's always advised to finish any medication or contraception completely.

You wouldn't know when you were ovulating anyway if you were on the pill and your cycles would take time to re-establish. I didn't wait until the end of my pill packs when we decided to ttc

Don't be ridiculous. Two pills off the end isn't going to severely mess with your cycles and shock your body into anything. Where on earth do you get this nonsense?

I stopped mid pack and guess what, the only consequence was a baby.

Hedda please go back and re- read the question. Dementedpixel asked what COULD be the result stopping mid packet. Not 2 from the end. Dangle has probably finished her 2 last pills now.

It's great you got a baby but that's not the case for everyone coming off the pill. Your response was insensitive and rude. The TTC journey can be heartbreaking for some and not everyone is the same.

Trying to frighten a woman who is not struggling to conceive because she hasn't even started TTC yet into believing that coming off the pill mid pack will have dire consequences is irresponsible and scaremongering and I completely stand by my post.

And so is being rude and throwing around comments like well I got a baby. If you have never had problems coming off the pill please don't comment. I have FIRST HAND experience that stopping taking your pill mid packet can have bad effect. And I have first hand experience that finishing a packet and then stopping can also have bad effects. It's not scaremongering. It's the truth! The pill does mess up your cycles. It's very well known cycles can be irregular for up to 12 months after stopping. Why would anyone add to that stopping mid packet and giving the uncertainty of cycles on top of all the pressures of TTC. Please be a little more sensitive.

I had my last one on thurs night mouse :) no withdrawal bleed as of yet. Feels weird not taking it I was at my works do last night and thought oh god I've forgot to take my pill then thought oh no I haven't haha! X
