danigrace · 11/11/2016 13:08

Thanks so much ladies Shock Only 10dpo, tested this morning as have been having sore boobs and we're due to see our GP at 5:30pm today to get DH's second sperm analysis results. Have another fertility specialist appointment booked for Tuesday where I was due to get my first clomid prescription. But looking like all the natural medicines I've been taking may have worked. This is only the second time (in over a year of trying) I've had ovulation confirmed; the first time my luteal phase was only 4 days so was taking stuff this time to support luteal phase as well as the stuff I'd been taking to encourage ov.
Still very early days though so trying not to get too excited. Think I'll wait and test again on Monday morning.

DrRBannerx · 11/11/2016 13:48

If you don't mind me asking danigrace what natural medicines were you taking?

danigrace · 11/11/2016 14:04

A lot DrBanner haha. Been taking complementing ones for a few months as they take a while to build up in your system, have been seeing things gradually improve since - feeling better with more energy, from never any ewcm slowly growing to quite a lot, random peaks on bbt chart slowly evening out to consistency etc. I posted somewhere else last month eveything I'd been taking, I'll see if I can find it and copy/paste it for you xx

danigrace · 11/11/2016 14:14

DrBanner and anyone else interested here's a copy/paste of what I'd been having (which I posted a few weeks ago in another thread).
Big apologies to everyone else for text block!!

COPY/PASTED from a while back:
"So diet-wise a protein-heavy rather than carb-heavy diet, no added sugars /artificial sweeteners/ additives / processed foods / alcohol / gluten / only live organic yoghurt as dairy / only odd green tea as caffeine. Supplement/extras-wise I've been having a protein shake each morning (natural stevia sweetened whey isolate) & add 1tsp inositol [great for insulin issues that studies show may be a leading factor in pcos]; 1tsp maca root powder [studies show boosts circulation & good for pcos]; 1tbsp freshly ground flaxseed [again been shown to help with pcos - stopped this one after ov, (1st half of cycle only)]; and I throw a fistful of organic leafy greens in there. Also take Pregnacare conception; a good quality fish oil; calcium supp; high dose vit d3 supp; a herbal tincture prescription that includes agnus castus (stopped after ov); tribulus tincture days 5-14 of cycle [small studies have shown it can reduce ovarian cysts and boost chances of ov in up to 2/3 of pcos women, animal studies also v. successful]; also evening primrose oil 3 times a day from cd1 - cd14 to increase ewcm. Also been doing yoga most days in my living room before we start work or after work as well as going for a 30 min - 1hr walk with DH on our lunch break & daily fertility self-massage with geranium or clary sage oil (stopped after ov). Adding a high dose vit B6 for the luteal phase.
Don't think I've left anything out (oops yes I did - magnesium! Which I use in oil format sprayed on skin for better absorption), apologies for the essay!!"

DrRBannerx · 11/11/2016 14:30

Thanks so much! That's an awful lot more then I expected.. Best start stocking up! X

danigrace · 11/11/2016 15:07

Haha, I know right. I did a LOT of research and reading of studies etc. before formulating myself a plan (specifically tailored to anovulatory pcos). I just realllly hope this is a sticky one, my first +ve test and it's been a long time coming!

DrRBannerx · 11/11/2016 16:33

All your hard work has paid off! You deserve it. I hope all the best for you x

Lulu298 · 11/11/2016 20:36

Congratulations danigrace - that's fantastic news! Hope you get stronger lines over the next few tests.

And thanks for reposting your list. Which high dose b6 vits do you take? And did you come across anything to bring ovulation forward/lengthen your lt phase in your research?

Sorry for your loss Dr. Flowers

Here are my stats

Cycle 5
Not sure if I've ovulated this month

DrRBannerx · 11/11/2016 21:28

Thank you lulu
I'm hoping to hear more good news on here soon Smile

Dazedandconfusedtoomuchpeppa · 11/11/2016 21:36

Congrats dani

CD37 and bad cramps here. Hurry up AF Angry

danigrace · 11/11/2016 21:47

Lulu the combinaion of everything together was to bring forward/encourage ov, I very much doubt just one piece would have worked alone bc my hormones and cycle [or lack of] was so messed up. But I've only researched from my own point of view (anovulatory pcos) so not sure which bits apply to other situations and how.
This cycle I took 100mg vit B6 from the day after my +ve opk to support and lengthen the luteal phase (generic brand, pic attached) & that applies to all I think, not just pcos. If it didn't make a difference this cycle I would have also added progesterone cream (bought over the counter) next cycle.

Thanks dani that's so helpful Smile xx

Dazedandconfusedtoomuchpeppa · 12/11/2016 10:01

AF just arrived on day 38, so cycle day 1 for me. Looks like that's me out until March unless cycle changes Sad .

Good luck everyone x

danigrace · 12/11/2016 10:08

Dazed ugh so sorry to hear that, big hugs xx why do you say until March? Xx

You're most welcome Lulu, hope it helps xx

Dazedandconfusedtoomuchpeppa · 12/11/2016 10:24

Thank dani. My husband works offshore & with my cycles being so ridiculously long we will completely miss fertile weeks until March.

MissMagpie · 12/11/2016 10:32

Oh no dazed - hopefully you will get another chance before March. If not, make the most of doing things you won't be able to do when pregnant and savour those moments.

I thought I ovulated around Weds according to my ewcm but was still having loads yday and have had possible ovulation pains overnight (if it's not that cyst I had last month twinging).

We have dtg 5 times this week including yday and my DH says he is too knackered to do it again this weekend so hoping we are covered.

Time will tell I suppose.

danigrace · 12/11/2016 10:42

Dazed oh no, sorry to hear that! This year I had a cycle that lasted from the beginning of March til mid August! Have you been tested by your doc regarding your long cycles? If you know why it's happening hopefully you can figure out a way to shorten them. Or get your DH to pack you in his suitcase!!

Magpie it certainly sounds like you're covered, fingers crossed for you!! My ewcm can go a bit haywire like that which is where I found opk's really handy

DichotoMous · 12/11/2016 11:04

Well today I am 11DPO and according to my period tracker AF is due tomorrow. I caved and did an early test with FMU but BFN. However my boobs are still sore and I feel a bit queasy and crampy. Why is it that these things could also be PMS??? I am not feeling totally disheartened though as with my daughter I also tested negative at 11DPO and didn't actually get a positive until a day after AF was due (I didn't bother testing again until I was late), which means unless AF shows up I will be testing again on Monday. Is anyone testing this weekend?
