IVF 2 weeks ago and blood test result of 5, could it be positive?

Been told negative is 0 - 4, having another blood test tomorrow, have been having pessaries to prolong cycle.

Anyone please?

If you are talking hcg levels then 5 is a positive result normally. I am not sure about with IVF treatment sorry.

It's not for me but for my friend and she has asked me and I don't really know all the info so thought I would ask here.

If it is 14 days past egg collection, then whilst it is technically positive then it is very, very low. That said there is a huge range of values of hcg on any given day past egg collection/ovulation which can result in a successful pregnancy.

This link may be useful Betabase.info But you need to know how many dp egg collection(ie ovulation) your friend is.

Sadly the only way to find out which way the hcg is going is to wait for the result of the next test. I'm an IVF patient and been in your friend's shoes and it's a horrible, horrible place to be.

Thanks so she had the embryo put back 14 days earlier so that means 14 days dpo, doesn't it?

They took the eggs out on monday and embryo put back on Wed iirc

Yes, egg collection is the equivalent of ovulation, so yes she's 16 dpo or in IVF speak, 16dpEC or 14dp2dt (14 days past a 2 day transfer).
