MrsMcJnr · 26/01/2007 10:54

Oh Trace, you are sweet, thank you so much!! Same goes for you all, so much genuine happiness for me, it's lovely.

Pinky - the idea of the AN boards scare me just now. I hope the scan goes well and lets you relax, keep us posted.

Babymad - was looking for your email address just then to let you know! How are you doing hon?

Feel a bit mean as am off on a hen weekend leaving DH alone with no doubt tons on his mind. He is delighted though but his first question was is it more than one!! No champers in the jacuzzi for me.

Let me have all your tips on where and what to read up on! I know nothing!

trace2 · 26/01/2007 10:56

so so pleased for you, just go steady at the weekend but enjoy it, you may not feel .like many more for a while

I cannot tell you how genuinely pleased I am for you MrsMcJnr! I have always looked out for your posts and awaited your bfp with baited breath. It's great to see another ttc long-timer announcing their pg.

I too didn't join the antenatal threads until I was 7+ weeks as I was paranoid as anything, but hey I'm 24 weeks now and everything's fine.

Hate to be the voice of doom on your thread though- here's a little info copied and pasted on jacuzzis during pg:

Can I use the Jacuzzi?

Regulating your body temperature is important during pregnancy. Studies suggest that increasing your temperature above 38.9C (102 F) for more than ten minutes in the first seven weeks of pregnancy can increase the risk of miscarriage or some neural tube defects such as spina bifida. Avoid overheating during the first trimester of pregnancy, and only use Jacuzzis occasionally and for short periods of time (less than ten minutes) for the rest of your pregnancy.

Sorry to include that but when I had my booking in appointment my midwife told me that although there were lots of ridiculous dos and don'ts during pregnancy, she abided by the overheating and the undercooked food ones the most.

MrsMcJnr · 26/01/2007 12:03

Thanks SOH - I knew about the jacuzzi so I'm not too upset. It sounds bizarre but I feel too self conscious to strip off so I think I'll avoid the spa, don't fancy it much today anyway (not like me!) Wow, you are getting really far along! exciting! getting a nice bump?

Bodkin · 26/01/2007 12:03

Didn't know you were on a Hen weekend this weekend - well, you should have known you'd be getting a BFP then, just to scupper your plans of jacuzzis and booze! Have a fab weekend anyway - will you tell the other "hens"?

MrsMcJnr · 26/01/2007 12:07

Totally Bodkin! isn't it typical?

They are all really close friends so some might suspect as I'll be off the sauce (never seen before) but hopefully the focus will be on the hen and I'll get away with it. Going to tell one of them so she can help me cover up i.e. drink my glasses dry for me!

ShowOfHands · 26/01/2007 12:08

"getting a nice bump?"

Pick a word to describe my bump from the following selection:

gargantuan epic unsightly stupendous awesome mahoosive

All fairly accurate!

Sorry about the jacuzzi thing, I'm sure between getting your bfp and now you've been reading everything you can get your hands on- ignore about 95% of it or you'll worry yourself sick.

I am so pleased for you. It's lovely to walk around with this little secret, knowing that your life has changed forever and you're growing a little person inside of you.

Take it easy, rest lots and enjoy your hen weekend.

MrsMcJnr · 26/01/2007 12:44

You nearly made me cry there! bump sounds great by the way!

ShowOfHands · 26/01/2007 12:47

Nearly made you cry? Wait until you're further along and you can't do anything but cry because either you can't choose which bubble bath to buy (full breakdown in Sainsburys) or your cats are sitting next to each other on the sofa and 'they're such good friends'. Oh yes, I have done both.

Oh the hormonal delights of pregnancy. You're going to absolutely love it!

ShowOfHands · 26/01/2007 12:48

And you'll put your keys in the fridge and forget about it until three days later.

Maybe that's just me too...

MrsMcJnr · 26/01/2007 12:49

how put out will my 3 furry babies be when they find out there's a fur-less one on its way! so much for animals alerting you to these things...

ShowOfHands · 26/01/2007 12:56

Actually you might be surprised how they react. One of my cats won't come near me and hisses at my tummy, the other insists on sitting on my stomach at all times- whilst nudging it and trying to lick it.

They certainly know I'm pregnant and did from about 7 weeks.

Oh, I'm excited for you. When will you be due?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 26/01/2007 13:11

Waheeeeeeeyyyy! MrsMcJnr, that is fantastic news!! I am delighted for you. Don't know if you remember me from the ttc threads - hopeully you do.

Wishing you all the very best with the pregnancy. I really am chuffed for you! xx

honeyapple · 26/01/2007 13:55

Heh MrsMcJnr- did you do anything different this month? I need the details!

Juicylucytoo · 26/01/2007 13:59

OMG, OMG, OMG. Oh that's so flippin FABULOUS!!!!

BIG BIG Congrats, hugs and kisses

That's really cheered up an otherwise bloody awful Friday for me.

soooooo pleased for you MRSMJ.

conkertree · 26/01/2007 14:08

Fantastic - congratulations - such great news.
