Hi becaroo - Funny you should ask this as the week before last I had terrible thrush which I never normally get. AF was due last Wednesday but didn't arrive. Have done 3 tests but all negative so have no idea what is going on with my body . On Saturday I had some really light bleeding but only lasted Saturday afternoon. I know I'm probably not pg as negative tests but I too got thrush when pg with my dd in the very first weeks.

Looked it up on the internet at the weekend and found a site that did say it can be an early sign and it's caused by all the hormone changes.

HTH

atalantis · 23/01/2007 13:59

Yes -- have just discovered that I am pg (about 6 weeks) and had horrible thrush about a ten days ago for about four days. Getting a BFP made up for all the itching!

LittleMamaT · 23/01/2007 14:14

Yeah - that's how I 'knew' I was pregnant with DS2 - horrible thrush which started when AF was due and which unfortunately kept recurring throughout the pregnancy. Nearly drove me mad!!

becaroo · 23/01/2007 19:34

Thanks guys! Thought I was going a bit mad. Only 2 days late so we'll see what happens this week but DH and I were very naughty (had been to see the new James Bond flick and I was feeling a bit frisky!). Been waiting for an appointment to have a coil fitted...might have to wait a bit! Funny thing is, only sold the last of ds baby stuff the week before xmas. Will keep you posted.....Furryfox..I bled slightly in all my pregnancies in the beginning. I think they call it an "implantation bleed" due on or around when your period would be. Good luck

OP posts:
FurryFox · 23/01/2007 19:46

Thanks becaroo. I've heard of implantation bleeding although didn't have it with dd.

If I hadn't already done any tests I think I'd be a bit more positive and hopeful I might be pg but because all three of the tests have been BFN's I don't hink I am.

Surly by CD36 a test would show up positive if I was pg?

Good luck for you too (if that's what you want? . How old is your ds?

Make sure you let us know what happens .

babylove123 · 23/01/2007 19:58

Beca, yeh i've heard its very common. When i was late, my doc diagnosed me with thrush and altho i was in agnony, i became positive with it but i had a BFN

Good luck!

becaroo · 24/01/2007 09:56

Furryfox...its funny because if you had told me before xmas that I might be pregnant I would have run for the hills screaming as I went!! However, I'm not freaking out much at all. Dh seems fairly relaxed about the whole thing too. Mind you, that might change if we get a definate BFP!!! The timing would be rubbish as I am starting an OU degree next week and, as I said, we have just sold all ds baby things lock stock and barrel....I should be more worried about this but until I know for sure I am just taking one day at a time. Hope you are feeling ok...will let you know what happens - If my AF is not here by friday I will do a test.

OP posts:
FurryFox · 24/01/2007 11:37

Hi becaroo. Well I did another test this morning and another BFN. Guess my body is just playing tricks on me.

I'm glad you're feeling ok about it, at the moment anyway and glad dh is too.

Well done for holding out till Friday to do a test. Wish I could be like that - I can't help testing early just in case .

Have you got any other pg signs? Hope you're feeling ok .

becaroo · 24/01/2007 18:36

Furryfox...sorry to hear about your BFN I think with pregnancy tests it all depends on the length of your cylce. If you have a longer cycle than average (like me) then if you are pregnant a BFP will take longer to show as the hcg hormone is not being produced as early as in a "normal" cycle. Did any of that make sense? It did inside my head!! Anyway, fingers crossed for you. Still got raging thrush. VERY uncomfrotable but no AF as yet.

OP posts:
FurryFox · 24/01/2007 18:43

Thanks becaroo. Feel ok about BFN, just want to know where AF is!?

Does make sense what you said though and thanks for telling me that. I didn't actually realise that if you had a longer cycle it may take longer for a BFP to show, although as I write that it completly makes sense . Thought my cycle was about 29 days, could be out by a couple of days but it's definately not this long - or at least it wasn't

becaroo · 24/01/2007 18:56

Takes at least 10 days for hcg to show up in urine and that is after implantation....keep your chin up honey.

FurryFox · 24/01/2007 19:01

Thanks again becaroo. When do you think you'll test? The suspense is killing me .

becaroo · 24/01/2007 19:13

Definately not doing it till friday....it will be hard to wait but the way I feel at the moment I want to do a test every time I pee!! Must be strong! What about you furryfox? Shall we make a pact?

OP posts:
FurryFox · 24/01/2007 19:27

Good idea beca

Will definately hold out till Friday - not that it will probably make much difference Just feeling sorry for myself now, ignore me

becaroo · 24/01/2007 20:19

Right then, no tests till friday!! You are allowed to feel cheesed off furryfox...its awful not knowing and I assume you have actively been ttc? I would be much worse in that scenario, I'm sure. As it is I cant seem to think of anything else at the moment. REALLY wishing I hadnt sold all of ds baby stuff now!

FurryFox · 25/01/2007 18:39

AF arrived today Becaroo, never mind

How are you feeling today? Trust you haven't tested?

becaroo · 25/01/2007 19:15

Oh furryfox..you must be so dissappointed Have you been ttc for long? Bought a test at tesco today to use tomorrow morning but think my AF is on its way too...I caught myself blinking back tears this afternoon watching some baby piglets on my sons farmyard dvd! Thank you so much for your posts Will let you know what happens xx

Is increased CM a sign of pregnancy? (sorry to hijack!) I'm swimming in the stuff but I would have thought that it would decrease as the cervix seals over? confused. x

ammylovesbabies · 25/01/2007 19:22

sorry to hear bout AF furryfox xxxxx

becaroo · 25/01/2007 19:25

Sorry to get a bit disgustingly technical but as far as I am aware it is the consistency of the CM that matters. i.e: the more mucus like and spongy the more likely that you have already ovulated. The more thin and stringy, you probably havent ovulated yet. God, just read that back...it sounds horrid! Sorry!

OP posts:
ammylovesbabies · 25/01/2007 19:26

Its not stringy- it was bout friday/saturday of last week. Just feel uncomfortable and damp all the time. sure its nothing but was just hoping.........

babylove123 · 25/01/2007 20:52

Hi Furry,

sorry to hear AF came @ least in a way you know that your body is working ok (give it a few days and i promise you'll feel like that!)

Ammy, it can be a sign but tbh, i often suffer with that "damp" feeling pre AF got my fingers crossed for you!!

Good luck for 2morro Becca, keep us posted!

FurryFox · 25/01/2007 21:09

Thanks girls for your support. I am actually really fine about it. Never really thought I was pg was just more worried where AF had gone but am glad she has now turned up , something I thought I would never say!

Like I've said before it was only first month of ttc so not going to stress about it at all. Maybe after a few more months I might think 'oh when is it going to happen!' but for now I am fine. Like Babylove said, at least I know my body is working - well, I think it is

Becaroo - Really hope you get to do your test tomorrow and it is a BFP. Have all my fingers and toes crossed for you and make sure you let us know. xx

babylove123 · 25/01/2007 21:25

Furry, im glad you have that attitude, it is a good one Also, when TTC, you prob will find your cycle goes awol because your mind is focused on knowing you need to try to be pregnant (or so my doc said!)

FurryFox · 25/01/2007 21:38

On the run up to my AF I'm always really negative (or at least I was when I was ttc dd), never think I might be pg and don't usually symptom spot, or if I do I convince myself I'm just imagining it. I always find that way if AF does show up I'm less disapointed than if I think I was pg and if it turns out I am pg then I'm overjoyed.

Think I always look at everything like that - negative, somehow I always think things never seem as bad when maybe they are.

Does any of that even make sense?

Am basically saying I'm fine with BFP and AF....this month anyway . Can't say I am in any hurry to get pg (ok I am in a hurry but not stressing about it!), dd is only 18 months old and she's a handful, I am blessed to have her and she keeps me sooooooooo busy I don't have much time to think of having another baby, although I know he/she would fit in perfectly. Also I am only 24 so still feel I have plenty of time yet.

Now I only have to read that another 99 times to convince myself I believe it I sooooooooo want another baby!
