For years I had 28 day cycles, featuring a light five day period.

Then we started ttc, and my body has gone a bit weird. First I noticed that my breasts were really sore. This usually only happens a couple of days before I'm due, but went on for a fortnight. Then my period was four days late (started to get excited), but tested negative. Period finally seems to start - I then bled very lightly, more like brown discharge, for 8 days. Throughout this I developed acne all around where my beard would be if I was a bloke. Great. 8 days into my period, I got horrible cramps, became hugely constipated and bled more heavily than I have in my life. Now a total of 14 days into this period and I'm still bleeding lightly, and quite spotty.

All that has changed since the halcyon days pre-ttc is

a) no longer using condoms for contraception
b) started taking Pregnacare conception supplement.

Is this normal? What is going on? Can I do anything about it? Sad Angry Confused

I'd go to the GP. Could be a few things, but not a doc - so I'd hate to guess!

Well ... Some pregnancies have bleeding a lot and don't show up on tests for some time. But I think they're very rare.

It sounds more like an early miscarriage; I've had quite a few at that stage. Either way it's worth going to a doctor and chatting in person as physic said.

Also have a quick read up on the symptoms of miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies if you've never heard of them before (please don't freak out though, they're super rare too! Good to know about though.)

Not likely to be condom or supplement related, and even if it is an early MC, it doesn't mean you won't conceive healthily next try around, so try not to panic or stress too much - easier said than done, I know. Flowers
