Had 2 miscarriage - found cause! Anticardiolipins levels for APS clotting

I had 2 miscarriages (both at 5 weeks) so the doctor has been doing various fertility tests...

One of the tests is Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) to find levels of anticardiolipins because this is a common cause of miscarriage.

Did 2 blood tests a few weeks apart

First result 16 MPLU/ml
Second test 20 MPLU/ml

Doc now referred me to specialist to decide why treatment I would need (low dose aspirin or heparin injections etc)

• Has anyone else done this blood test after miscarriage?

• Was was your result and what treatment did you have?

• I don't know if above levels are high or very high etc

So sorry for your losses bit what a relief it must be to now know the cause and to be able to hopefully prevent further losses.
My 3 miscarriages were unexplained. I had all the tests done but nothing could be found as to why I had repeated losses.
I now have a beautiful 5 month old daughter.
I very much hope you have a sucessful pregnancy next time around and that you have done other replies of women who have the same diagnosis. X

So sorry for your loss, just doesn't seem fair sometimes.

I had MC in Feb at 8 wks. I am ovulating next week and am about to start trying again but I am so nervous it will happen again! I am using a donor and really don't want to tell him it happened again and discorage him helping us.

Before TTC i went an had a fertility MOT to ensure all was okay and the Doc was prodding my ovaries and said the blood flow to them isn't great and that when I get pregnant might be worth speaking with the doctot about taking asprin to decrease the chances of things like pre eclampsia.

Someone I know had multiple MC and now is on injections thorugh the pregnancy and has got me thinking back to what the Doc said previously to me and whether is anything I can do to stop it happening again.

Did the GP give you these tests on request? mine will likely not allow as only 1 MC but may try private if anything.
