Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 11. Welcome one and all!
We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

jem honestly, for the most part it's not a problem, he goes to work, does the shift and comes home. But it can be bloody awful. He had his ear bitten off last year, and then he broke his thumb that one wasn't so bad, his hands have been broken multiple times through boxing and he had 4 car loads of men turn up a couple of weeks ago kicking off when he was on his own. He's looking for something else but he's got no confidence about his own skills other than bouncing. It frightens me now, especially where we live, it's an unpredictable large city to work in with an abundance of nut jobs!

hep I've got traits of it, but Im sure im not on the spectrum, I just get very locked on to things! I have anxiety disorder which culminates in ocd when I'm struggling. I have to absolutely force myself to socialise, which is odd given that my job for years was very sociable nightclubs but I was always able to separate my rl from work! I'm very routine based.

moose my Dh was the same. He's still genuinely surprised that even after 2 cycles, I'm not pregnant. As he put it "well I've shot enough up there, you'd think one would stick!" He honestly thought that just having unprotected sex would result in an immediate bfp. What doesn't help is his ds was conceived whilst his ex was on the pill supposably AND they were using condoms.

moose lol at sweary bfp :) and hurrah at DTD! Sounds like you got it in there at a really good time. Fx for you and the spermoids through the hunger game trials.

starky oh my god his ear. I can't even imagine how painful that must have been, poor guy. Has he ever done private security work? My sister used to date someone who worked for George Michael. Can be lucrative work but I think often involves travelling.

Working from home today. Just in that place where I kind of want AF to come so I know where I stand and can move on mentally to the next cycle. My next fertile patch coincides with a little trip to Cape Town with DH, so would be prime DTD time!

Equally I would clearly be the happiest girl alive if AF stays away for the next 9 months...

Lyssie · 22/02/2016 14:42

I caved and took an EPT this morning. I think I had a faint line...One day early. why couldn't I wait?! Will test again tomorrow and have a picture for you all to help me determine for certain!
Reason being is I had a dream I got a BFP, and when I woke up my husband burped, and he was across the room from me, and I said, "That smells like blueberries"(of all things)...
Apparently he had a blueberry muffin yesterday morning, unbeknownst to me...and I'm nauseous!
I also watched the Cider House Rules last night and bawled my eyes out in the first 10 minutes, and I never cry during movies...

We will see ladies!!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/02/2016 15:03

jem he's done the private stuff, it's ok money but it gets on his nerves. The ones you're looking after are usually fine, it's the entourage that get in the way and cause problems! he's threatened to chin a couple of famous boyfriends before now

The ear was grim. We'd tentatively decided to ttc last July/August but then when his ear was ripped off they told us to wait because he had to have all the jabs for hepatitis and anti retroviral drugs. And that took 3 months. And then he was freaked out so I had to start all over again convincing him it was a good idea. It's healed well but he wants put now. 18 years on the door and he's sick of it. The world has changed so much in the past 5 years, it's not safe anymore.

lyssie that sounds really promising! Esp the faint line. Looking forward to seeing a good strong BFP from you tomorrow.

stark god that must be infuriating that it held back both of your lives in this way. I don't blame him for wanting out - I hope he finds the self-belief to try something new. Becoming a daddy might give him a nice push in this direction too.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/02/2016 15:35

lyssie post a pic of your test from today. Definetly sounds like a positive.

stark how woukd he feel about doing something like prison service work or G4S at the courts? I used to be a prison officer and although it's a bit rubbish at the moment with all the government cuts etc... Can be a great career, as in could move to be a dog handler or trainer in control and restraint or a gym instructor for prisoners or something once he's in?? Think wages can be rubbish to start off these days, but there's usually loads of opportunity for overtime which pays well?
Although still a little bit risky it's definitely safer than door work?
FX Lyssie

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/02/2016 15:53

Its funny you say that because he'said been looking into that moose he fancies the prison service but it's just getting his head round it his db died in prison but I think it might be a good move. He's been a personal trainer but it's so hard to make a living from now, gyms aren't set up for individuals to succeed. The gym instructor within a prison though, I'd never thought of that! Thank you Grin

OP posts:
Mooseville · 22/02/2016 16:02

stark i think you'd have to join as an officer and then apply once you're in to be a gym instructor so it wouldn't be a quick process. Sorry to hear about his brother, but at least he'd have a full understanding of how difficult it can be for prisoners at times? I don't work there now like I say, but if he does apply feel free to dm me and I might be able to find out some recent info on the application centres, they usually feature round role plays (normally calming down an angry man which I suspect he would be brilliant at anyway!)

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/02/2016 16:11

Thanks moose ill definetly pass on the info, I think he'd be brilliant but it's getting him to believe it. Thank you. Smile

Hi all haven't had a chance to catch up yet, hope everyone is okay
Any chance someone can summarise what I've missed??

SuchaJem · 22/02/2016 17:22

Ummmmm first is up the duff, moose got a well timed shag in, Lyssie had a faint line tbc.
BFNs for spacedino and confused and me.

I am probably missing lots, this is just the top of my tiny brain.

Feefeefs · 22/02/2016 17:54

Excellent summary sucha

I keep meaning to post also for those that like extra vitamins etc. There is a biochem professor in my work who is very interested in work on selenium, it's a bit of a buzz word in clinical nutrition as deficiency associated with a few things including stomach and gullet cancer.

Anyway, low level deficiency is also associated with infertility in men and women particularly in those who have experienced repeated miscarriage. It's low in most people's diet and vitamin supplements of it are not well absorbed and the dosage is hard to get right as too much can stop absorption of other minerals.

Anywho long story short, try and eat 2-4 Brazil nuts a week, and make your partner do the same (obvs nut allergies aside)

Lyssie · 22/02/2016 18:01

I really hope that invisible line I saw today was for real... I vommed in the super market parking lot on the way to get ginger ale and saltines! Had to call in sick at the bakery today. I'm either harboring a little one or I now have the periods from Hell.

Mileymoocow · 22/02/2016 18:12

lyssie how many dpo are you?

jem epic summary. Thanks for that!

How's everyone doing? I'm going to shave my legs tonight for the first time in about 3 weeks. I'm getting hairier than OH and need waxed from my eyelashes to my ankles. So not sexy.

Ni4444 · 22/02/2016 18:21

Thanks for that Feefs! Spotted a bag of Brazil nuts that needs to be used up in the baking stuff yesterday so we shall be sharing those now!!

stardusty5 · 22/02/2016 19:08

lyssie fx for you, that sounds really positive!

Cd18 here, another strong positive opk and ewcm so dh has his orders. Managed twice yesterday as he was too pissed to be of any use on saturday! Hope his swimmersweren't quite as hungover! Confused

Sending in reinforcements.

bluebird3 · 22/02/2016 19:09

miley needing to be waxed eyelashes to ankles!! Hahaha!! I'm with you there. My dh now notices when they're smooth as the odd day out instead of when they're hairy! Blush

Fx for you lyssie sounds you're on the right track! Looking forward to your pic of a beautiful bfp tomorrow!

Lyssie · 22/02/2016 19:34

Miley
I think I'm 12dpo(approx). I felt like I ovulated right when Clue(the period app) said I was going to, which I hardly thought would happen.

IrregularCommentary · 22/02/2016 19:40

Almost entirely off topic here, but sooo jealous of your Cape Town trip Jem. I was there late 2014 and absolutely love it, love it, love it. One of my best friends moved there to do her masters about 7yrs ago and has lived there ever since. Feel free to give me a shout if you want any visit tips if it's somewhere you've not been before.

LillianFullStop · 22/02/2016 20:02

kat I have an update I went to see the dentist today for a check up and clean and in the form I had to say I was upduffed. she was very sweet about it except she looked at me tentatively and asked if I had morning sickness because I can see how sticking dental tools inside a nauseous woman's mouth could be an occupational hazard Smile

iPatches · 22/02/2016 20:35

Okay so I have had another TWO positive OPKs today.
Basically:

Sat 2pm - positive OPK #1
Sat 6pm - positive OPK #2 (y'know, just to double check...Blush)
Sun 6pm - positive OPK #3
Mon 8am - positive OPK #4
Mon 7pm - positive OPK #5

This cannot be right!! Confused

Feefeefs · 22/02/2016 20:35

Maybe two eggs ipatches?

iPatches · 22/02/2016 20:39

Feefeefs - ignoring that even one baby slightly terrifies me but wouldn't they be released on the same day
