Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 9 , Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Have you pregnancy tested today first ? If no af I'd definitely have a go with fmu. Cycles are so weird! I'm 6 dpo and feeling nothing! My wind has disappeared well, I'm back to a normal level of wind and other than that, nowt! Haven't been checking cm and am thinking of stopping doing opk's now, even though I love them!

indi hope you're feeling less knackered soon! It's all for a good cause!
kat you're not out yet, I feel like ttc is a lot more boring than I'd anticipated, it's just a lot of waiting about and wondering!

starky your poor foof. Scented loo roll doesn’t seem quite right.

kathrino I feel fortunate now that our office loo roll is white! Flecked is a total mindfield.

Can someone please explain to me why checking the cervix is a thing? What are we looking for?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 14:47

jem basically, if your cervix is soft, Hugh and open, it's a sign you could be ovulating. If it's hard (in comparison) and low, then you're not. It changes according to different times in your cycle. m.wikihow.com/Feel-Your-Cervix I'm not a very good cervix checker, I forget to do it often enough for it to make no real sense to me. I may start doing it next cycle.

I didn't even realise it was scented as such, it was just purple and laced with itching powder Im quite sensetive with my skin anyway so it was my own daft fault really!

OP posts:
FXSkip · 05/02/2016 14:48

Ha ha starky you never fail to make me lol!! I'm knackered, my skin is an actual bombsite, all of my skin feels tender and I am cranky as f*ck. AF, hurry up or sod of for good, I don't care right now, I am just done with the cramping, the am I, aren't I.... On a better note, I watched the Sperm Race last night, and aside from the cringy acting (I much prefer the real biology-lab images), I really liked it. I particularly liked the inference that better quality sex is key - I am convinced that the real-life 'accidental' pgs happen because the couple is just into having good sex, rather than having a nagging concern at the back of their minds. Doesn't help any of us though!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 14:54

Ammendment : If your cervix is soft, HIGH and open...not Hugh, although I hope there's no one called Hugh up there, fuck knows who he is, he'd have had to crawl in a while ago.

OP posts:
SuchaJem · 05/02/2016 15:05

Hahaha I'll have a look and see if Hugh is about later on. Perhaps he might lead the sperm in the right way for me?

SuchaJem · 05/02/2016 15:06

fxskip quality sex is key? Is that true? I mean Christ are these eggs picky or what?!

Planeteer · 05/02/2016 15:23

I quite liked the name Hugh. It may be spurned now it has the association of clandestine foof-lurker...

firstgo1984 · 05/02/2016 15:30

starky i haven't as no positive opks. Might do next week if no AF

Laurenowls · 05/02/2016 15:40

Finally just caught up on pages! But nothing new to report here except from bleeding has now gone away and im kooking forward to start trying properly xx

FXSkip · 05/02/2016 15:53

Jem well, what I took from the program is that when OH/DH/Whoever is really really excited, they expel more ejaculate, so more sperms to choose from, apparently as much as 50% more. In addition, women who orgasm during sex increase their fertility by around 6% (according to tests on pigs)

Kathrino · 05/02/2016 16:18

Imagine studying for years and years to become a respected scientist and then to spend your days making pigs orgasm. All of a sudden, my job doesn't seem so bad.

KatOnATinRo0f · 05/02/2016 16:21

no stark i was on the original one too... i think its our turn next! jumps to the front of the queue tee tee. we've been trying since august. starting to be worried there might be something wrong with me. :-S

...you can get purple toilet paper?! thats just weird?!

Jem cervix position changes throughout the normal cycle. can tell you when you are ovulating. and possible when pregnant too. I'm not saying more as I'm writing this while reading the rest and I'm sure someone's already explained it...

yup.. theres stark explaining it. (i knew it would be her). I dont like touching it! who was our O&G doc? has she migrated to the grads thread now??

omg! first i took you off the list as you were due to test aaggeeess ago and we didnt hear anything from you! are you crazy?! i dont know how anyone could get to more than 30 days of cycle without testing! huge starky star for you! Star now go test!

OMG... I'm completely calling my cervix Hugh from now on. I'm not sure my cervix should had a name. might be even weirder touching it him??

KatOnATinRo0f · 05/02/2016 16:23

i think i can feel the first twang of AF pain. I'm going to ignore it. :'(

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 16:44

Haha Hugh the covert cervix loiterer! Grin maybe it's not cervical mucus, maybe Hugh just has a cold! I bet I can make Dh believe one of my reproductive organs proper name is 'hugh'. Hugh stroking!

jem they are picky and twatty! Oh no, we can't have that sperm! Off with its head! Natural selection my arse!

first opk's aren't always good for everyone, or you may have a dodgy batch? I'd definitely test, you get the biggest Starky's Star! StarStarStar

OP posts:
Snowdog37 · 05/02/2016 16:50

I can't get a properly positive opk 😜 So I go by temps. I'm 3dpo according to FF now... Let the crazies begin!

Feefeefs · 05/02/2016 17:08

Ha ha about Hugh!

firstgo1984 · 05/02/2016 17:26

kat my last cycle post pill was 77 days, which is why i haven't tested yet. My almost positive opk and ewcm last tuesday and wednesday are the only slight hint of ovulation. The pill has really messd my cycle up

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 17:30

It did mine when I first came off it first admittedly this was years ago but it probably took me about 6 months to get a proper period back. Depo was worse, I didn't have a cycle for about a year. There good when you're not ttc, but when it comes down to it, it's a bastard.

In other news, aldi has a load of baby stuff on sale. Cloth nappies, moses baskets and from newborn buggies (£22.99, not that I looked, a lot)

OP posts:
firstgo1984 · 05/02/2016 17:36

So i may test next week if no AF and any symptoms

SuchaJem · 05/02/2016 17:54

Oh god baby stuff sale. I can't even imagine having to buy baby stuff. It's like I'm trying but I don't really believe it could result in a real live person.

Yvonne1986 · 05/02/2016 18:02

I'm the same SuchaJem I don't feel like it will ever result in a baby! X

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 18:18

Me neither, we already have a moses basket (it cost £1!) And we've been collecting little bits, couple of babygrows etc, only I'd stuff is in sale. Fully expecting Dh to come home with the pushchair at some point next week.

The way I'm looking at it is, I'd I never get a bfp and don't get to be a mum, then I'll bundle it all up and give it to a charity I know which helps underprivileged kids and mums in need. My late grandma used to collect and buy new school uniform every year and donate it because she used to say that no child should have to start school without a new uniform.

Ovia would have had me test on Tuesday just gone Miley but because of the variable cycle length, I have self imposed a test date of tomorrow as I would have expected AF to arrive today if I was having a cycle as long as the longest I've had. Does that make sense? Cramping is back but still not AF so I now have a FRER in the house. The big question is can I sit on my hands all night and not use it and will DH make me take it the moment he walks in the door.

Elle of course you can crochet a scarf. Get yourself registered on ravelry.com and see all the beautiful things you can make. I prefer knitting for clothes generally but they do take a long time to make. I mostly knit soft toys.

Kathrino · 05/02/2016 18:23

Jem, I'm exactly the same. I know theoretically that we might end up with a baby at the end of this but I just can't actually even begin to imagine it what it would actually be like + I'm pretty sure I'll actually lose my mind if/when I do get a BFP.
