Thread 7! Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in cm management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies fart stories make us laugh

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, a resident piss stick queen runner, loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

LaraG Cthulhoo I am in a similar position where OH mum has just started chemo and I would love to have a BFP to cheer her up! We did promise to get married once her hair grew back, but I thought that would take years and now regret making the deal!

Mileymoocow · 21/01/2016 16:53

Can someone baby step me please? Does anyone have a list of what I can and can't do/eat whilst ttc and if I fall pregnant. I asked Google and it's all too much 😢

I feel like everything I love is a big no no!

Also cancer sucks balls so bad. My dad is in remission from mouth cancer. My grandad is undergoing radiotherapy at the mo and it's making him so poorly. I feel for you, ladies

LisaTheGreek · 21/01/2016 16:56

Feefs - completely agree about being positive without being hysterical. I find my best days are the ones where at the end of the day I think 'oh, I didn't really think about TTC at all'.

As I've been on MN today, this won't be one of those days

I remember reading TTC threads back before we officially started trying and thinking 'TWW, that's not time at all, why are people so aggro about it?'. Oh how the mighty have fallen....I was a fool....

ImpYCelyn · 21/01/2016 17:28

Miley you don't need to worry to much until you're upduffed. But avoiding vitamin A is really important - that's liver, pâté, foie gras etc. Then unpasteurised cheese - so hard cheeses are all fine (I think. Supermarket ones are. Fancy pancy farmers markets one are iffy), for soft cheese you need to check. Blue cheese is a goner. Alcohol we've already talked about... Raw fish and undercooked chicken - so step away from sushi. Shell fish like clams, scallops and mussels can have high levels of mercury.

My sil was pregnant at the same time as me and wouldn't eat salad in a restaurant in case it wasn't washed properly, but did eat scallops. I was a bit Hmm (I would've risked scallops as a rarity, but didn't give a toss about salad) (no pun intended)

So I've had this weird adrenalin high today despite basically no sleep. And instead of resting my foot I've run round like a mad woman and done loads of housework. No idea where that's come from. My leg bloody hurts now!

ImpYCelyn · 21/01/2016 17:33

Miley if you have a specific thing you want to check just name it and I'll tell you what I did first time, and second (which is notoriously laxer). But I am pretty pragmatic about risk - I basically minimise but don't avoid entirely (handily I don't eat raw fish, undercooked chicken, or blue cheese anyway).

So sorry that so many of you have cancer in the family. It's an absolute bitch! My niece has just started her second year if chemo and it just makes me so angry that she has to go through that. My dad is on the list for open heart surgery and he's terrified - I must admit I've already thought I'd love to be able to tell him there's a baby on the way for him to meet.

Holly300 · 21/01/2016 17:53

Wow! That took me about an hour to catch up on all the posts!! Thanks starky for the new thread. I love the thread name!! Bloody Ovia - so fickle!

Positive opk today. Watch out dh, I'm coming to get you.

Co5mo · 21/01/2016 18:00

Oh and I put the positive Opk into Ovia and guess what...fertile week change. I knew I was right and it was wrong.

Holly300 · 21/01/2016 18:01

I totally agree with oh not quite understanding how the whole fertile window thing works! It is very common so you're not alone! It's so frustrating because we grow the babies whilst dealing with all the symptoms and weight gain. Then we have to push them out... They could at least try and understand how complex our bodies and their reproductive systems are. It's not a lot to ask tbh!

Holly300 · 21/01/2016 18:02

Haha co5mo - have fun!!

Co5mo · 21/01/2016 18:05

It's not much to ask. My dh refused to dtd the other night and couldn't understand why I was peed off with him. For that, I'm handing him my positive opk the moment he walks in the door. Birds and the bees lesson advanced level coming up.

ImpYCelyn · 21/01/2016 18:09

Lol Co5mo - it involves a practical as well, right? He can't complain Wink

Holly300 · 21/01/2016 18:09

They def need to understand at the very least that we know what we're talking about and when we say it's time to dtd, it's time to dtd!!

Confusedcat1 · 21/01/2016 18:11

Holly I can't get onto that site without being bombarded by spam ads - beware they lool a bit virusy to me!

I am such a loser! I posted this on the old thread
I will go back to the top and read on this new thread
Starky great title, as always

Thanks Lisa, hard doing things on my own. Thankfully I have you ladies here! And yes, I think some people play it down!

Exactly Miley errrrr nope, it doesnt work like that... It will take me no time my ass.

Indi you are right, I too am a bit tired of this routine we have... Maybe a date would be nice...

Feefs hahaaaaa fuck off indeed Gregg with your super sperm

Fx guys have not come to me for advice, but you are raising a very good point. Maybe I could start a secret society of the poas, and educate men about the ramekin and gu pot culture. And!!! About this surprise pregnancy...

Someone at work announced she was pregnant (which I have suspected for over a month) then said that she had no idea and she wasnt trying. Oh really??? I don't buy it with this girl in particular. If it is true, great, but I am thinking that probably she is just saying that, not realising that some people might be struggling and that hurts.

Holly300 · 21/01/2016 18:25

Sorry about that confused, it wasn't like that for me. It's a link to a website called two week wait, the thread is bfpers posting their early pg symptoms.

So BFN today, boo. But what's the deal with implantation bleeding?

Had cramp most of the morning and during a pee stop at lunch I noticed a bit of blood. Thought AF had started but nothing else has materialised since. Am I too late for it to possibly be implantation? AF is due on Saturday so might just be coming on about early?

Why is everything so complicated?!?!?!

Jamjar12 · 21/01/2016 18:27

Oh also, love all the comments about our perfect friends who get upduffed at the merest speck of semen. Whatever. They were examining their pee and CM like us!

Also, I think it was Fx with the ramekin story? Pissing myself laughing at the 'must be a leak' excuse!!!!

Kathrino · 21/01/2016 18:34

Holly, is that the site where people also upload the sticks that they have peed on for people to vote on whether the test is positive or not? I can spend actual hours on there.

Evergreen15 · 21/01/2016 18:38

Imp now I need to stash my wee for 7 hours. To see GrinGrin did you put a lid on it? As suggested?

Here we go...

Confusedcat1 · 21/01/2016 18:39

No need to apologise Holly I just wanted to give a heads up :)

Me and my 8+6 half Lego brick place marking. can't promise I won't throw up on anyone

Confusedcat1 · 21/01/2016 18:44

Miley - this is how I'm approaching it. I know that not much can affect the blastocyst during the tww, but generally then I'm treating myself as pregnant. I have alcohol when af is there. For me it helps me cope with Ttc, cos it's like a little reward which sweetens the fact that af came. It's like, well I'm not pregnant but at least now I can enjoy some drinks with dh.

Food wise I'm still eating cheese but avoiding raw meat and eggs. I had a toxoplasmosis test and it came back negative so dh has already taken over cat cleaning duties.

Also medication wise my doctor is treating me as if I'm pregnant, so for example I was given pregnancy friendly antibiotics.

Don't know if that's helpful but that's how we are doing it.

Jamjar12 · 21/01/2016 18:47

Thanks Holly, now I'm going to spend hours on that site! Just had a look through some and there's a few spotting at 12dpo which has made me rather excited but trying not to get my hopes up!
