Hi,

I'm hoping for some advice please ladies? I'm CD 32 with AF due today/tomorrow... However have not had the usual symptoms coming up to AF other than cramps. I tried a tesco test and a boots digital test this morning and both gave me a BFN.

However having just tried a FRER test, I think this looks promising? Can't quite believe it if so....

Thoughts please? SmileThanks so much x

Bit of background-
TTC since October, cycle 3, CD 31.
AF due today.
Some cramps yesterday, no other distinctive symptoms.
Fingers crossed!!
Can I also ask, when you say FRER is there a particular type that everyone uses?
Cheers! Xx

ScottishLady7 · 11/01/2016 08:03

Oops sorry! Will do, thanks SockBalls!

fohamy12 · 11/01/2016 10:04

Well done on not POAS this morning, if the tests weren't as expensive I would of been testing every time I went to the loo. Looking forward to seeing your darker line in the morning ScottishGirl

ScottishGirlx · 11/01/2016 13:46

Scottishlady - there must be something in the water!! Ha ha. Congratulations, I can definitely see a faint line. We have very similar stats too... I also started trying in Oct and was on Cycle 3.

Toadie - Congratulations to you too!! I read about your BFP on the Jan bus. Very pleased for you!

I tried another FRER this morning but it's lighter than the original one I did... Sad also this one was FMU and the first one was done around 5pm.

I don't know if this is bad news? I'm so worried I've got my hopes up now...

There is definitely a line on the one I did today but in the comparison pic you can't really see it...

Ugh, was so hoping for a really dark one!

Morning
It is looking lighter, sorry you're worried. It could be for a number of reasons. Did you drink much last night? How dark was your wee? When did you last wee before testing this morning? It could be lighter due to being more hydrated than last time. And what are the answers to these questions from the darker positive line?
When is af due?
Hcg needs to double every 2-3 days for a viable (sorry, horrible word) pregnancy and whilst these tests are good and sensitive they don't always darken as quickly as you would hope. I purposefully haven't tested with another frer since getting my positive as I did it before in a previous pregnancy and it just stressed me out. Do you have any more tests? I'd wait another 2-3 of days and test again and try not to drink too much the night before so you have nice strong fmu.
I really hope it's not bad news. You could speak with your dr and ask for 2 sets of hcg bloods as they are more accurate than urine tests? They will often give you an emergency telephone appointment if you phone up now and may be able to slot you in today.
I really hope this works out for you. Sorry you have a few days of stress now. Here for hand holding Thanks

ScottishGirlx · 12/01/2016 11:57

Thanks for your message Vap0, that is so helpful.

I suppose I did drink quite a lot last night, about four glasses of water and a cup of tea before bed. I didn’t notice how dark my wee was and I last went before bed around 11pm and tested at 5.30am as I woke bursting!

For the darker positive I’d probably not had that much to drink now that I think about it as I’d been out and about all day. I’d had half a cup of tea and a large glass of water from the time I got up to when I tested at 5pm.

AF would have been due either yesterday or the day before. I’ve still got lots of creamy cm and no sign of AF on the way yet. This is really unusual for me at this time of the month.

I’ve got boots own HPT so I’ll try one of those in a couple of days… that just seems so long to wait but I know it’s best! My OH was trying to play the whole thing down and not get too excited and of course I couldn't help but get carried away…

I’ve got to register with a new surgery anyway so might ask when I’m in tonight doing that about an app.

Hand holding much appreciated Vap0 and fingers crossed for a lovely dark line for you in a few days.

Anyone else experienced this before and have a happy ending? Anything to cheer me up!! x

This happened to me too that's why I hoped you had a darker line this morning, by the way I have a 1 year old thrashing the living room at the minute! Don't try to over think, you've had 2 positive pregnancy tests! Bet this time last week you would have been overjoyed with that! As I said I did numerous tests, they didn't really darken till a good few weeks in, don't worry too much yet.

Whatdoidohelp · 12/01/2016 15:24

It doesn't matter how much you drank. You held urine in your bladder for seven hours so the test should be dark or equal to the previous one. I'm sorry. This has happened to me too In the past.

miraclebabyplease · 13/01/2016 08:33

Mine took days to get darker but it did. She is now bounding around the flat x

ScottishGirlx · 13/01/2016 12:29

Thanks ladies!

I'm feeling much more positive today and will maybe try another test tomorrow and see but just have a gut feeling that all is ok! Fingers crossed I'm right :)

Will post again tomorrow if I test!

Best of luck scottishgirl Thanks

Vap0 · 14/01/2016 07:41

Hi, did you test this morning?

ScottishGirlx · 14/01/2016 20:54

Thanks for asking Vap0. Smile

Well I did a test this morning and the line was basically non existent (but I didn't trust it as the other line was really squint and so thought it was maybe a dud) . Did another test at lunch time after having strange pains/cramps in my abdomen all morning (different to the cramps I've been having the past few days) and there was a line (see attached pic). However I then had a bit of bleeding this afternoon - only when I wiped and very light. Called the doctor and he recommended I go in for a scan and booked me in for an app next Friday with the hospital.

Unfortunately since I've been home this evening I've had more cramps and now having brown discharge. Sad Doesn't look good!

This TTC business really is an emotional roller coaster :'( hoping for a miracle but if it's not meant to be this month then it's for a reason I'm sure x

Sorry if it's not good news.

For future reference, those blue dye tests are crap. Stick to pink dye, FRER if possible, but even poundland cheapies on pink dye are better than the blue ones.

Vap0 · 14/01/2016 22:04

Hi

Sorry to hear about your spotting and brown discharge. I have had this twice and am sorry to say it did not end well. I really hope this isn't the case for you. I hear about ladies who just bleed and baby is absolutely fine. It could have possibly been implantation bleeding. I really hope it stops. Best of luck for next Friday and your scan. I have a 6w scan on Monday which I'm pretty terrified about. Keel in touch and let us know how your scan goes. Flowers

Vap0 · 15/01/2016 08:29

Hi
Thinking of you. Hope the bleeding/spotting has stopped Flowers

ScottishGirlx · 15/01/2016 12:01

Hi Vap0,

That means a lot, thank you Thanks

So lots more cramping last night and dark brown blood when I wipe today. This is usually how AF starts so I'm feeling pretty sure that it's an early MC. Don't even really want to say the word out loud though Sad

Not sure whether to do another test tomorrow if it's not come to an obvious period? I just want to know now either way as the worrying is exhausting.

Good luck in your scan on Monday. Is there a reason you're going in for a 6 week one? Hope all is well. I'm sure it'll go really well and will be lovely and reassuring to hear a heartbeat etc. X

Vap0 · 15/01/2016 19:21

Sorry to hear this.

I would save your test if I were you as you have hcg in your system so you are officially pregnant and even if you are having a mc the hcg takes a while to leave your system. So the test won't tell you anything other than showing you another positive line. As you have a scan booked you're best holding off and going in and seeing what they say. They will ask you to give them a sample of wee and will scan you to see what is happening. It doesn't sound good and I'm sorry, although there are a few people out there that do bleed and still progress well so carry on as if you were pregnant (food, drink, cigarettes) just in case but prepare yourself for the worse. Flowers

I have an early scan as have had 2 mc in the last few months and had a little spotting early on with this one. It has been a very long haul to get this far 28 months for this pregnancy!

Shemozzle · 15/01/2016 20:26

This happened to me last month too. Faint positive, followed by 2 negative, then a faint positive and then just more negatives. Period came over a week late in the end. I considered it a chemical. It's gutting, I hope it's not the case for you. It taught me not to do early tests anyway, as it's fairly common when tearing early.

ScottishGirlx · 15/01/2016 21:01

Vap0 I'm sorry to hear you've been through two mc and such a long TTC journey. Sending lots of positive vibes for Monday Thanks

My stomach cramps have really ramped up a notch this evening and I now have red bleeding.... Feeling very weepy.

Shemozzle sorry to hear you have gone through similar. That sounds exactly like what I'm going through. It really is hellish and I wish I'd not gotten my hopes up so much so early on... we'd even said that we could tell family on my DPs birthday in Feb so I'm now dreading that :'(
