Too frightened to Test

I really hope someone can help- I had a MC in October and one normal healthy AF last month. We decided to go against the doctors advice and start trying again immediately after the first AF. I am now 1 day late- I usually fluctuate between 29 and 30 days and I am now 31 days.

I have a dull ache in my lower stomach which I keep convining myself is my AF, however I am usually crippled the day before it starts so I am assuming it is not this.

I am feeling sick throughout the day and food doesn't make it go away so it's not that I am hungry- with my last MC I wasn't sick at all but I assume this was because my hormones were low- but I did have a very achey chest region- but these don't seem to be bothering me as much this month..

I am actually terrified about testing because I want it sooo much- what do you think about the symtoms??

Well the only way to know is to test.
You wontr rest until you do.
Have you got one?

WigWamBam · 18/12/2006 12:50

You have to test - you'll wind yourself up dreadfully if you don't.

And at least you will know for certain then.

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 18/12/2006 12:50

Goooo onnnn.
TEST!

WigWamBam · 18/12/2006 12:51

We'll be here to hold your hand ... go on, get a test.

MerrilyTooBuzzi · 18/12/2006 12:51

go on go on go on....

beckyjones · 18/12/2006 12:53

I haven't but I am on lunch in a minute- I am stressing out because I almost don't want to know because it could be a failed one- I shouldn't think negatively but I can't help it.. are abdominal pains this common in the early days?? I actually can't remember last time even though it was only 2 months ago as I think I mentally blocked out any memories- it was the only way I could cope!

i had quite a bit of cramping and an awful dull ache in my back with ds.
had it for the first few weeks, it was like my af was about to start.

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 18/12/2006 12:56

Hes now gurgling and smiling at me in his rocker

beckyjones · 18/12/2006 12:58

Ok- I will do it- probably tomorrow am though to make sure the HCG if any if highest- Just looked on the internet and it did say that some women do suffer with light cramping around the day and a couple of days after their AF is due! This would be the best xmas present ever! I will be happy to be sick every day for 9 months !!!!

went out at lunch- walked straight past boots, I have now convinced myself that the lower abnominal pains in my stomach is my AF coming- just feel too dull and also my stomach is as flat as a pancake which is v.unusual I have usually swollen by loads!

Had some soup for luch and feel really sick, I know if I heaved I would be- I am not generally a sickly person and I didn't feel this sick last time!

You must do a test, stop at a shop on the way home and test tomorrow morning.

Be prepared for it to be negative and then come straight on here and let us know.

I have added this to my watch list.

beckyjones · 18/12/2006 14:20

flutterkey- I will I promise- I must stop being such a whiner- I am driving my husband bananas!

Update- I did a test last night, which showed the faintest positive- I actually took the test apart and had a look at the strip itself and you could see it - how bad am I!!

But this morning I took another and it didn't show anything. I used the boots test which say you can do it one the day you AF is due.

I am very confused but think maybe I just have to wait this one out. Have no AF pains what so ever which is very unusual.

It is just a bit strained as I have my xmas do tonight and then a couple of other boozy nights this week, I won't be over doing it now!

Further update- I have started my AF , however there is no pain what so ever no cramping and usually I'm in agony- could this be an implantation bleed or does that happen just after you catch?

OP posts:
nadinetd · 19/12/2006 10:39

is it heavy bleedy or light bleeding is it bright red or dark?
fingers crossed for u x

beckyjones · 19/12/2006 11:11

It's only light - not really blood, it looks like red discharge- sorry for the graphic detail- quite thick though..

Hiya Becky.
I would maybe contact your GP or local EPU for some advice. They may scan you because of the positive test but I think this depends very much on what area you live in. Some are more happier to do this than others.
I have heard of a false negative but never a false positive.
I would also have thought and from experience that there would be more blood and pain if it was AF/miscarriage.

flutturkey · 19/12/2006 14:28

Hi becky, I would second that advise, ring and talk to someone.

I expect a report back

beckyjones · 19/12/2006 14:42

I have just called the doctor and they are going to schedule a call for me this pm. However- the bleeding has completely stopped not a trace and believe me I have had a good old search- sorry tmi...!

No pains what so ever, boobs don't ache as much but have a good bra on today- ran down the stairs last night and they felt like they were going to bounce off my knees..

No feeling as sick but weeing none stop- will probably test again on thurs if af hasn't properly arrived

what do you think!!

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 19/12/2006 15:41

Ahhhh becky weeing is good that was the only early symptom I had with this PG and a very faint positive test.

Good luck hun xx

greedyformincepies · 19/12/2006 16:39

i had very slight bleeding with both of my pregnancies at the same stage that you are now. i assumed it was af, but then it stopped and hey presto i was pg after all! it was brownish and not v. much of it! lovely! good luck!

trace2 · 19/12/2006 16:45

i too bleed a few days befor af, but stopped same day, did a test few days later was + now 15 weeks pg

good luck

greedyformincepies · 19/12/2006 16:49

trace2 you sound similar to me, but i also bled again about 14/15 weeks with both of mine. just a little bit and didnt last for long.....but just wanted to say dont panic if the same happens to you!

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 20/12/2006 09:00

How did it go at the Dr's becky?

beckyjones · 02/01/2007 13:35

Hi everyone just to update you that it was an early miscarriage- doctor then practically shouted at me for testing too early and then continued to damn early test kits!

He has advsied to keep ttc as I am but to be aware that early miscarriages are very common and that most women don't even realise.

No further help from him then.. I honestly think they think I am an over reactive woman, which makes me so angry I am 24- have had three miscarriages including one ectopis where I losta tube and my husband and I have been trying for 18 months- that rings alarm bells-

does anyone know who I can complain about my doctor too, short of having to explain to the receptionist in graphic detail what is wrong with me, he will only allocate me and my dh 10 min slots!!
