Hi,

I am a mumsnet user but changed username after the password list was released.

Anyway, briefly my story is that I conceived rather easily (second month of trying) a year ago. Our baby was diagnosed with a fatal fetal abnormality and was stillborn at 5 months. The abnormality was just one of those bad luck cases so there isn't any genetic worry. Anyway after a lot of grieving we're moving on and trying to conceive again.

I have never done the temperature taking, OPK test kit thing (and don't really want to start it) and kind of approach TTC as try to have sex every 2nd day for the middle 2 weeks of my cycle, and more regularly around the suspected time of ovulation. I thought we had all bases covered this month but my period arrived bang on time so alas no.

My question is to those of you who have 29 day cycles. What day do you find you ovulate?

Thanks in advance for any info!

When I was still fertile, I had 29 day cycles and I used to ovulate on the 17th day (this meant I used to tell the mw that my due date was 3 days later than the normal calculation would predict, which assumes you ovulate on the 14th day).

TMI time: OP, you can tell when you're fertile when your vaginal mucus is like clear snot and fairly runny. That's the day you want: it worked for me!

Sorry about your first baby, btw: that must have been really upsetting. Flowers

Thanks Lumela!

Yes I thought we had timed things fairly well between knowing my cycles well and keeping an eye on cervical mucus. I suppose we probably did but it just didn't happen.

Trying hard to keep calm and un pressured!

I don't use opks but judging by my body factors (weight gain, bloating, ewcm) I seem to ovulate around day 13-15. We just dtd every other day for two weeks and then every 3-4 days after that just in case. If I'm not pregnant this cycle I think I'm going to try opks.

Thanks simplydivine. I've just noticed my thread title makes absolutely no sense, it was supposed to say 29 day cycles!
