3 days late BFN!! any chance of BFP???

so my period was due on saturday, have tender boobs and feeling nauseous. i stopped my pill a week into packet 10 august is there any chance i could be pregnant i had a withdrawal bleed 14 aug for few days...any advice greatly appreciated!!

Hi. How do you know your period was due Saturday? Your initial few months off the pill will not be as straight forward as you think - it took a month and half for me to have a proper visit from AF - with a withdrawal bleed in between.

when i was trying for my first baby, i only had one period before i fell pregnant and that period was 28 day cycle! did you finish your pill pack or did you stop mid way like me? im so confused! i feel pregnant! i read in few places you should take first day of withdrawal bleed as start of next cycle! My pill was cerezette and I took a full months worth before stopping.

I didn't know withdrawal was the start of next cycle I thought it was just your body attempting to stabilise or something.

Then again... Your talking to someone who has been trying to get pregnant for over a year and knows very little

While it is possible to fall pregnant immediately after coming off the pill (hence all the warnings about covering missed pills with alternative birth control method) it is not common. I don't think you calculate your cycle from d1 of a pack of pills as it's not a natural bleed at the end of the pack each month.

If you stopped the pill on August 10th and had a withdrawal bleed starting on the 14th then you would have to wait for the hormone levels to drop sufficiently for you to ovulate. You would be unlikely to ovulate the day you started the withdrawal bleed. Typically a woman ovulates 10-16 days before the start of AF depending on the length luteal phase.

Perhaps track your cycle for a month or two using opk's to discover when (or, indeed, if) you are ovulating and how long your LP is.

Thank you for ur replies ladies! I did an ovulation test last night and it came up positive (I think) so just going to wait for af and hopefully start trying properly next month! Suppose I should of been a little more patient and finished pack! Last time it only took me 6 weeks to get pregnant so fingers crossed I be so lucky this time! Best of luck if any of you r TTC x

melissa Ovulation tests can also show positive for pregnancy.... although I don't want to get your hopes up, it could be late ovulation!

Oh really! I didn't know they could show up positive if u were pregnant! I took one the next day and it showed up negative and I took a pregnancy test and was bfn!! . Still no sign of af not going to take hpt for another week which will b 28 days after withdrawal bleed! This is all so confusing!! Are you TTC too? First time posting have been amazed at reponse! Xx

melissa do you monitor any other signs such as cervical fluid, position or temperature? These can all help you get to know your cycle.

I didn't have a proper AF until 42 days after coming off the pill after being on it for ten years.

About a week ago I have clear stretchy discharge which I thinks meant I was ovulating! Yesterday I had a creamy discharge but now nothing! Any ideas what it could mean?? Next month when I get af going to pay a lot closer attention! X

I had 5 BFNs and was a week late before I finally got a BFP-he's 3 in a couple of weeks!

Took me 4 days overdue last time to get bfp so hopefully there still a chance! My boobs r sore but I'm thinking it could me just because my hormones all over place bc I came off pill mid pack!! thank u for all ur advice xxx
