hi I will be trying for number 3 after Xmas, although tbh dp and I haven't been terribly careful recently . Also still bf ds2 (26m) and periods still extremely rare so not sure how often I am ovulating.

Want to lose some weight first as well, have been trying the GI diet as I believe it is far healthier than the rapid weight loss ones. But in the 5 or so weeks I've been on it my weight has stayed fairly constant!! It also includes far more wheat and milk than I am happy with. May just stick to my usual foods and up the exercise. Ds2 will be at a pre-school after Xmas which will give me a bit more time for organised exercise.

Best of luck to everyone

Id love to try for no.2 around Christmas (DH and I discussed trying next Christmas a while ago) but in the current climate, I think we're best waiting Good luck to all of you though

Littlepiggie and Lucy. My DD will be 1 in January and I am still BF. I haven't had AF since she was conceived and won't do for ages because I've just had a BFP!

We thought it would take a little while, this time because it took 6 months from trying to conceiving last time. This time it was my first 'appearance' of fertile cervical mucus that led to BFP.

Good luck to everybody TTC

Lucy1977 · 19/11/2006 20:32

Congratulations Jennster!!! That's really fantastic that you conceived during your first cycle since DD!

Does anyone know if night feedings postpone the return of ovulation? My DD did get better at sleeping during the night but now she's back to 2-3 feeds a night (she's teething and has a cold). Whilst I don't want to take her comfort away from her at the moment come January I really will be keen to start TTCing (I'm going back to work in March as well and hoped to return pg!)

I read that changing the times that you feed (not necessarily reducing the volume)can stimulate ovulation, although think DD was sleeping through quite a bit for a few weeks before it happened for me.

HelloMama · 19/11/2006 22:09

I think if you're not feeding as regularly as 3-4 hourly around the clock, i.e. through the night as well, then you may ovulate at any time. Well, thats what they say if you're using BF for contraception anyway! I guess its difficult to speculate becuase you'll ovulate before you see your period, so if you're actually TTC, then you may not know you were about to ovulate until you find out you're preg!

MummyPig · 19/11/2006 23:11

there's some info on kellymom about bf and ovulation here but it does really seem to vary from woman to woman. I've certainly found my only periods so far were after prolonged time away from ds2, including night-time, even though I expressed while away.

littlepiggie · 20/11/2006 21:36

congrats on you bfp, hopefull we will not be too far behind you. drop in from time to time and let us know how you are, and how you are finding pg while bf.

Littlepiggie. Without being too graphic, your cm changes throughout the cycle. I haven't had a period since april last year, and so when I got the sign I had ovulated we went for it.

Cm around ovulation is very wet like egg white. Other times in the month it is usually drier or stickier. See Hellomamma's quote below too.

littlepiggie · 21/11/2006 19:06

Will not be joining you in jan, did a pg test today as af is all over and not had one for coming up to 7 week, and got a bfp.

Hi, will be ttc after Xmas. Already have two little ones but had my third m/c in Aug. Dp not sure he can go through it all again but i really want to, so we will see. Congrats all on the BFP's. Don't get to post much but will read and keep up to date.

Jossie · 24/11/2006 23:02

Want to try again as have DS1 & DS2 then m/c in April and August. Just about feeling ready to try again

Lucy1977 · 26/11/2006 20:45

Hi ladies

Well I'm really excited as last week I definately had egg white type CM. We're being really careful until January but I'm hoping that means my periods will return soon to enable me to TTC!

So, I spose I better get in some folic acid. I took Sanatogen last time - I guess these are ok whilst you're breastfeeding?
