Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

I can't sleep and I'm enjoying this thread about long eggs, cockney tomatoes and meat knockers. Fascinating german science video if any other JSers are insomniacs, night owls or dirty stopouts with actual social lives.

pretzelpieces · 16/05/2015 00:06

Am also quite peckish now

sarah1391 · 16/05/2015 00:17

Haha hi pretzel i'm awake...we went round to our friends house as his OH made sticky toffee pudding for us, been here for hours and trying not to fall asleep on their sofa lol

Ain626 · 16/05/2015 02:15

I am having issues sleeping again tonight. this is now the second extra bad night this week (as opposed to the normal amount of 'badness' when it comes to sleeping...)

jelly I hope the witch stays away. And as others have said, if you can't rant here where can you? Flowers for you. And some Wine.

I am going to try sleeping again now..

autonomousplum · 16/05/2015 07:59

Morning minions viroids! Smile
I haven't had breakfast yet and all I'm reading about is food! Aaa-aaaargh.
So laaa-aaate last night I had some ewcm. Sod's law. Hoping it want a fluke event and there is more today to signal the start of things this cycle. Didn't dtd as I'm really unenthusiastically down but will steel the hatches for tonight. This cycle as not been shagtastic so far. Hmm

honeysucklejasmine · 16/05/2015 08:09

Eugh. Think I'm coning down with a cold. Great. Sad

Hobbit19 · 16/05/2015 08:42

Jelly, how are you doing? Did the ERTD make an appearance or did you make it to 9dpo? Gx

jellypi3 · 16/05/2015 09:15

Morning.

No sign of the witch yet pud. I slept terribly because I was expecting her to arrive any moment. Thankfully I've got a busy weekend to keep my mind off it until she shows.

honey are you sure it's not hay fever? I've spoken to a number of people who thought they were getting a cold actually had hay fever.

janey15 · 16/05/2015 09:27

Really hope hay fever is not on the way as I've been avoiding my meds so now it's a bit late. I may have convinced myself that no hay fever was a symptom

jellypi3 · 16/05/2015 09:31

Someone was telling me yesterday that because of the warm winter we have had there's a lot more grass and flower pollen this year so it's gojng to be particularly bad for hay fever sufferers and even people who don't normally suffer will get some symptoms

honeysucklejasmine · 16/05/2015 10:02

Took an antihistamine... Let's see!

5hell · 16/05/2015 10:16

jel u sound quite stressed Sad i hope a busy weekend can be a good distraction.
i have everything crossed for you - for a decent lp at the very least.

I have the day all to myself - going to try to be productive, but may just watch loads of trashy tv Grin

justtheonethen · 16/05/2015 10:17

Morning viroids!

aut hope the ewcm comes out in full force later Wink

Ain626 · 16/05/2015 10:23

Watching lots of trashy TV sounds a great plan 5hell

jelly how you feeling this morning?

I think I am coming down with a cold too. I've never had hay fever before... though I currently have a really sore throat, blocked nose, and occasionally watery eyes. I've also been getting headaches with it. Could that be hay fever or is it just a cold? With the temperatures going up and down so much I figured it was a cold...

Really headachey this morning. May have to give in and take paracetamol...

WouldRatherHaveWine · 16/05/2015 10:47

I've definitely got a cold. Coughing, snot and feel like shit!

How do you lot rein in the symptom spotting?! I'm only 6DPO it's ridiculous

janey15 · 16/05/2015 11:13

wine unsuccessfully! I'm not googling them or anything but I notice them almost subconsciously. I do try to stop myself imagining telling my family etc etc but it's very hard to control those first thoughts. I'll be really disappointed when AF shows up but trying to expect to be in it for the long term. Stupid endometriosis Angry

Blackdogwalker · 16/05/2015 11:42

Just have a B complex thing to share with those taking it. First cycle on B50 and using CBdual OPK and have no smiling faces. Just been reading that it can delay icing, messed up come woman's cycles. ?ome taking it only after ov. Not good for me as I have bloods this month, but thought I'd share in case others have same but not realised.

lildottie · 16/05/2015 12:03

black I thought you were supposed to take it after icing but lp not an issue for me so no idea.

jelly gx for a 10day lp at least this weekend.

I too have a cold, but also think I'm getting some hay fever symptoms as well today. not normally a sufferer but I do get a bit when the pollen is really bad.

AF due today. just waiting for her to pull up. (or for los to work and get a bfp tomorrow!)

WouldRatherHaveWine · 16/05/2015 12:08

janey I'm glad it's not just me! When I had DS in the early days I had upset stomach rather than morning sickness to start, but I'm conveniently forgetting that I Ave IBS and I'm not experiencing anything new! Feel a bit tummy achy today too.

I've already decided how I'm going to tell the family Blush

black I had no idea that could happen. This TTC malarkey is actually pretty complicated

Hobbit19 · 16/05/2015 13:04

Lil, do you normally have regular cycles? Gx for the law of sod!!

ThursdayLast · 16/05/2015 13:46

Hi viroids!

Lovely day so far - a sedate and relatively sunny parkrun.
And AF seems to have buggered off, making me on CD6 I reckon.
DHnwas waiting like a creepy creeper in the bed for me when I got out of the shower!

What's the common thinking/approx time for icing? About a fortnight after AF starts is that right?

honeysucklejasmine · 16/05/2015 14:06

Done some gardening today. Going to have lots of veggies hopefully this summer! We bought 400L of compost so should keep me going! I am leaving them outside tonight and then they will go to my "alottment" tomorrow. I accidently broke the top off one of my beans so hope it will survive.

Cat has a sore on her lip, so taking her to the vets this afternoon. She seems happy enough though. Bizarre!

Lil if you get your BFP I will be so so happy for you that I shall cry.

Blackdogwalker · 16/05/2015 14:06

Lil I think some ladies have success taking it everyday and some only after icing. Others it's no help at all. For me, I've had bit more cramping which never happens first half and negatives everyday. Will keep testing till AF. Would me neither, bit annoyed I let myself get my hopes up this month about B50. Fingers crossed bloods useful.

honeysucklejasmine · 16/05/2015 14:25

5hell I can finally attach it! I take no credit for the design. When finished it had a name on, so here's the half done photo!

Sod the elections we want erections! We're hoping our miroids will deposit their seed in our lady gardens, and we'll all end up growing giblets. Come and join us on our magical new bedsheets, it's Jus
Ain626 · 16/05/2015 15:37

honey that's fantastic. Is that one of paper panda's designs? It looks familiar...

I need to find the time to make sure I do more crafty things... First to clean and tidy the craft room/office though...

CD17 here and trying not to symptom spot. Today's symptoms include getting really hot and a bit lightheaded when out shopping, cramping - low down, but kinda central, headaches, feeling a bit nauseous, and, bizarrely, feeling extremely thirsty (though drinking didn't seem to help that one, having an ice lolly did...?)
