I'm a novice ttc'er - wonder if anyone can answer a few questions please?

Hi ladies, I'm fairly new to ttc since my mc in December. I have a couple of questions that I hoped some of you more experienced ttc'ers could help me with please?

Ok, so the day you get a positive opk result - when is best to dtd after that?

Does the two week wait start the day after the positive opk result or the day after you last had sex?

I had a positive opk result last Wednesday and we only managed to dtd Wednesday and Thursday, should we try again tonight (Monday) or am I way past it now? And do you think I've done enough?

Thanks in advance ladies Smile

I read once that it's better to just have regular sex throughout the month, every month.

If it was positive on weds (so you should OV between next 12-72 hours) and you dtd weds and thurs the sperm should have been there waiting for the egg.
The egg, once released can only live for upto 24 hours so today - if you definitely Ov'd after your positive OPK - would be pointless.
If you're just starting to use opk - I'd continue using them AFTER you get a positive, just to see what happens....does it stay positive for days? Does it give a positive then is negative the next day etc....just to get to know what's happening. It doesn't prove you defo Ov'd (basal temping is best for that).

When you get familiar with what's happening in your cycle - start dtd before the OPK should be positive - so if monitoring for a few cycles shows that you always get a positive on CD14 - dtd cd10, cd12 then extra once OV is imminent. Sperm can live for up to 5 days apparently, so it's a good idea to send some in early to wait.
Hopefully you will succeed this month - good luck.
