Hi,
I see threads for ladies TTC mid 20's and 40's+ I just wanted to start one for 35+ I am 38 and seriously embarking on TTC baby 1.

My OH is often away for a week at a time and trying to DTD is proving difficult. I take pregnacare and folic acid and I try to use the Clearblue Monitor when I am able. I started trying May 2014. Anyone else in my position or similar?

Hi, I'm 38 ttc number 5! This is cycle 5, my doctor has said that she will refer me for some tests if no BFP by April ( 6 months of trying)

Maranello4 · 01/03/2015 13:25

It might still be too early for your test so hence coming back as negative x

JemimaPuddleDuck2 · 01/03/2015 13:37

I agree, if AF hasn't arrived tomorrow I'd test again. With DC2 I had several BFN's before my BFP..even though I had symptoms. Good luck x

so hard trying to keep my sanity! in 2 years ( and god knows how many cycles due to my ridiculous 22 day cycle) I have been 'late' 2 or 3 times an have had 1 miscarriage. Its really hard to balance hope and reality! Still no AF though... so still in the gameGrin

Hi All, I'm new to mumsnet but thank goodness I have found you all!!! I'm 36 and ttc. I had my mirena removed 28th Jan after a long 6 month wait but no AF yet but 2 Bfn. :-( I have two kids 10 and 11 but I finally have a new and wonderful SO who has no kids so this will be our first together. Tbh it's been such a long time this feels like a first time for me too!! lol. Everything has changed so much in 10 years. Since my coil was removed I am an emotional wreck. Is this normal??? I was so sure I would get a Bfp with symptoms. I guess I thought as I fell pregnant before without even trying that it would be the same now. Urrrgghh this is much harder than I remember!!! p.s. sorry if I sound whingy and moaney. Have no one to talk to about this.

SweepTheHalls · 01/03/2015 17:20

Not at all wingey and moaney - that's what mumsnet is for imo - keeping it away from RL so our friends and partners don't disown us :-)

croftieberry · 01/03/2015 17:37

Thanks Sweep!! Feeling a little less unhinged now. lol. I haven't had a proper period since my early twenties and my youngest baby is 10 so feeling well out of my comfort zone. eekk!!! x

Hi there, I'm 35 and TTC baby no 1, we've been trying most months for well over a year now and still had no luck. I've been sporadically using OPDs and have a cycle app and have been fairly accurate with it, or so I hope.

Because we had been trying for a while, we went to doc's and she ran initial tests on us, the OH had a sperm test and I had blood tests and a ovarian scan done. My scan and bloods all came back normal but frustratingly the husbands sperm test came back with low motility so she referred us to a fertility specialist.

Our first appointment with the fertility specialist husband had done a second sperm test and we got the results back, motility was still appallingly low around 6%. I was totally devastated but tried not to let on too much to OH.

So anyway our fertility consultant told us that hubby should take plenty of zinc and selenium and also advised that L-Carnitine can be helpful to boost motility. He recommended he take Wellman and I got referred for more bloods and another scan.

Second appt we got told all my bloods were normal, my scan was normal and hubby's sperm test came back with improved results 29% motility now so much better. So looks like the Wellman must have had a positive effect or maybe it was just time.

Our consultant said I should go for a HSG scan just to check I didn't have any blocked tubes or scarring or anything like that, which I find unlikely considering I have never had any probs with my periods and have always ovulated regularly but I will go with it, if we need to do it to get our miracle baby.

The consultant said with results like that we could possibly even be looking at getting pregnant naturally and we are booked to go back and see him in May after I have done my HSG, so I guess we will find out for sure what he says then.

We've been trying this month, we did it about 4 times prior to and including the day of when I think I O'd, so hope that was enough to have caught it. I can't say I feel positive but I am hopeful. I must confess I am starting to feel more than a little obsessed by this whole TTC thang as time seems to tick by. Biological clock much?

Anyway, sorry for the long ramble but I've been a lurker on the conception forum for a little while now and though I'd join in the fun today;)

Good luck to you all and hope you ( and I) all get our BFPs this month waves and sprinkles baby dust around

Hi ladies, any updates from anyone? Smile

margetter · 17/04/2015 11:32

I came back to give an update. I wasn't ready to do it before. As posted before (27th Feb) we started to try from Dec 2014 (im 36 y.o) and I found out I am pregnant on 9th March. Week later I found out it is ectopic. I was sure I conceived in Feb but my doc is sure it already happened in January and the bleeding I had wasn't my period but already ectopic bleeding. Because by the time the did the scan they said it is a lot bigger than I am saying. Unfortunately I had to have an operation where my right tube was removed. I'm gutted. Back in the beginning :(

Margetter I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, that must have been awful for you ??
