Hi, ive just got married and today i took my last pill! Ttc for our first baby (hoping for a honeymoon baby!) so scared and excited! Anyone else just started trying? This is all so new to me and most of my friends either have had all their kids or are no where near trying yet

Wow. I'm also impressed! I've got some cheap ovulation sticks from online but I'm not entirely sure when I should be using them yet! Haha. So much to learn...

I have been using the Ovia app (in the past, more to know when my period was going to descend!). I think everyone is different with when they ovulate, so I'm not sure when to use the sticks...

To complicate matters I also have pcos, but it doesn't effect my periods, so fingers crossed it won't be an issue.

hey, just jumping into the thread. 4 more pills to take then will see what happens... I don't want to be obsessive about tracking and dtd on certain days, but I will probably end up getting that way very soon!! before the pill af was never regular or predictable, so I don't think I'd be able to track ovulation even if I wanted to! have been reading through lots of discussions on mn and finding it nice to know there are lots of people happy to give advice and share experiences Smile

Alpha101 · 02/01/2015 18:25

I'm gonna join in this thread too. I'm 31 and this will be our first time TTC. Very exciting but also a bit surreal. I bought some folic acid today but going to avoid monitoring ovulation for the first few months of trying as I can get easily stressed about these things xx

BowiesJumper · 03/01/2015 15:52

Good to get a gang together!!

I'm 34 so ancient compared to some of you :)

Got my period today so cycle day 1 of first cycle of trying! Hurrah! Don't think ill chart or do sticks this month so just lots of sex! Ha.

pulpi · 03/01/2015 16:01

First time poster and first time at TTC! I'm glad I'm not the only 30+ that's only just TTC now! Haven't bought these ovulation stick things as we are starting now-ish. Just on the folic acid / prenatal vitamins and following a pre-pregnancy diet. The way my family talks, a man just needs to walk past the end of the bed and we end up pregnant.

Good luck to you all!

mrscatmad31 · 04/01/2015 08:13

Just waiting for AF to go then it's all systems go! going away in three days so hopefully being relaxed on holiday will help, nice to talk to other people in the same boat :-)

Just wondering if anyone has any updates? probably to soon yet?

MalteserChick · 12/01/2015 18:13

Hello ladies ð??? just wondering if I can join you all. I'm 22 and for Christmas my boyfriend surprised me by asking to start a family. I wanted to wait to the new year to try, but we ended up baby dancing to the noise of fireworks on new years, which (I'm pretty sure is when I ovulated). so today I would be 12 days past ovulation ð??? no AF yet, and hoping she stays away for good!

hope we all catch quickly ð??? good luck mums-to-be

BowiesJumper · 12/01/2015 19:46

emma85x · 12/01/2015 20:23

It's our first month trying too. I'm using Clearblue advanced digital ovulation tests, temping and using the Ovia app. Fingers crossed for everyone! Think positive!

mrscatmad31 · 14/01/2015 13:47

On honeymoon and according to glow I'm supposed to be ovulating, feeling very relaxed and as on honeymoon have dtd lots so feeling hopeful! trying not to think about ttc and failing miserably!

emma85x · 15/01/2015 21:33

Enjoy your honeymoon!! My DH and I never had one so just enjoy!! If you do conceive then fab! But just enjoy your honeymoon! You can try to conceive anytime but a honeymoon is a once in a lifetime event!!!

mrscatmad31 · 15/01/2015 21:43

Thank you :-) You are right of course, we will never have a holiday like this again so trying not to think about it but I'm always thinking three steps ahead, lol!

BowiesJumper · 20/01/2015 20:52

Ahhhh I loved my honeymoon.

So I'm not sure when I ovulated. I gave up with the bloody sticks. But we've done ittttt a few times in the likely window so fingers crossed!

mrscatmad31 · 21/01/2015 17:35

Hi everyone! First time poster also. 33 and first month ttc#1. I already feel obsessive about it.

Good luck x

HollyJenni · 21/01/2015 21:37

Hey girls
I stopped my pill on September the 2st. My period has pretty much returned to normal which is good. I'm due on today but no sign as yet but have had a terrible headache all day which I normally get on the 1st day ??

BowiesJumper · 24/01/2015 22:17

Hey hey. Just waiting waiting now. I won't test before the day my period is due (if it hasn't arrived) as I don't want to wind myself up!

mrscatmad31 · 24/01/2015 22:53

I'm going to poas tomorrow morning, now it will probably be a bfn as I'm not due until Thursday but can't help it! Fingers crossed for everyone

OP posts:
BowiesJumper · 25/01/2015 08:57

I'm due on on Friday, trying to resist the temptation to test before then.

FutureMrsB · 25/01/2015 11:46

Dear MrsCatMad,

I have read your thread with interest - I am also cat mad, and I am about to get married myself in April, honeymoon (long-haul) in June, and like you, my OH is the one who's most keen on the idea, and I too, at 34, feel that if I'm going to do it ought to get on with it! Oh, yes, and I love organising and spreadsheets! I'm a very anxious person and being organised makes me feel more in control, but there is so much about having a baby you can't control!

Oh, and I know for a fact my cat will hate it; he scratched ribbons out of me when my friend brought her toddler round, and he has never scratched before in 7 years. But I will just deal with that when it happens!

So where and when are you going on your honeymoon? When did you get married?

xxx

BowiesJumper · 26/01/2015 10:16

So I've just bought some conception lubricant from boots. Blush
It's just meant to make it slightly easier for the sperm etc. Anything helps eh!
Still 5 days until my period is due/ I'm testing, so I'm not definitely out this month but I'm planning ahead!
I was buying some vitamins and spotted it so thought why not. Conception stuff is on 3 for 2 at the moment.

How are we all?

mrscatmad31 · 26/01/2015 19:12

FutureMrsB You sound just like me, lol! We got married on the 19th December and we got back from our honeymoon to Jamaica last week :-)
We have booked a behaviourist to come round next month to talk about our youngest cats issues, he hates kids and would rather have someone in now and avoid a big problem if/when the baby arrives.
I did poas stick on sunday but it came up with an error message so took that as a sign i need to wait until Thursday!
Bowiesjumper my period is due on Thursday and have gone from thinking i might be pregnant to thinking im not, my boobs have been a little sore but think thats just from not being on the pill anymore, just want to know now!

OP posts:
BowiesJumper · 26/01/2015 19:54

Ha we're pretty similar with our cycles then!
I was feeling nauseous a few days ago but I think that's entirely unconnected. Might do a test on Friday. Lol
