Anyone else feel worse about TTC over Christmas/New year?

Can't tell you how many times I've heard "babies first Christmas" either at work, with close friends or family.

Just looking for maybe a few people to talk to about Christmas plans, coping strategies etc.

It's that time of year when it's great I can still have a drink or two but yes it's hard. Made worse for us that we have so little time or energy to actively DTD due to all the other pressures. My coping strategy is drink :) and the consolation that if and when we get pregnant I wouldn't be able to do this.
I'm currently avoiding facebook so that I dont see any friends cute baby pictures of updates on how the bump is enjoying the festive season. Otherwise it's grin and bear it and deflect conversation onto who has the worst family Christmas traditions and annoying in law habits.

Heck yes. I don't have a coping strategy I'm afraid!! The whole sodding festival is about celebrating the birth of a baby! And this year I can't even cope by having a drink as I am starting IVF in January.

It makes me think of the last few years when I've told myself optimistically, 'next Christmas it'll be my turn', well that hasn't happened again this year. It's shit.

Tell me about it catnip. I think the best advice I've heard so far is that it is ok to not want to do things if it makes you feel uncomfortable.

I'm with you ladies. TFMR in Jan (was due in July) and MC in July (was due Jan 15). So I should have a 5 month old or a 8 month bump. And instead am still not pregnant and seriously worried about periods not returning to normal. Finding it very very very tough.

I think that makes it worse is the whole insistence that it must be a happy time of the year, and for spending time with family. So it's not a good time being low in mood and childless as apparently that's the exact opposite of what we should be in 4 days time.

I'm sorry Monten I can't imagine what you're going through, but it sounds like it's crap. And yes, here's hoping that 2015 is our year x
