hi all, hoping someone can relate to this message.
i have been taking cabergoline 0.5mg for 10 months now and i have started to ovulate again, but last month i didnt get my period and i still havent come on, i did a test last week that said negative so went the gp and asked for a quantivtive hcg test but he said no as the urinee test said negaive i didnt need one.
i feel pregnant, i need to know so i can stop my meds.
has anyone else had negative results then turned out to be pregnant after taking cabergoline?

Cabergoline won't give you a negative pregnancy test itself if you are pregnant, and is probably fine to take throughout pregnancy with no increased risk of problems. It is just that it is normally best not taken, as with all medications.

You are presumably being looked after by an endocrinologist somewhere, so I'd leave a message with their secretary or Endocrine Specialist Nurse asking for their advice as they may wish to do a serum HCG along with another prolactin. I'd do another urine test though if your only/last test was last week.

Hi

I wondered if you ever found out what happened? I am in exactly the same boat as you now. I have a prolactinoma, no periods. Was put on 0.5mg of cabergoline once a week and have been on it for 8 months. My periods returned for 3 months are were like clockwork. And this month nothing. I’m now 10 days late and yet all the home pregnancy tests are negative. I’ve had to wait to even have a phone call with my doctor due to covid. So I’m speaking to them tomorrow. But I really just want answers and to know if my tumour has worsened. I saw your post and it’s so similar, I wondered if you ever got answers? X
