3dpo - boobs hurt, it's too soon to be a symptom right?

I am trying not to get hopes up, but anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

I started experiencing sore boobs for the first time in my life ever 1dpo last June - I now have a ten week old baby boy Smile

I'd say you're right not to get your hopes up, at 3dpo the egg will not have implanted yet so it's impossible to feel any pregnancy symptoms just yet - anything you do feel will be hormone related, but not the pregnancy hormone. I get sore boobs almost every month after ov, it's linked to the rise in progesterone after the egg has been released I think. Good luck though!

Thanks for the shot of reality, that's kinda what I need. I am intimately familiar with the biology of getting pregnant, after 5 years , 1 successful pregnancy and one miscarriage, I should know this. Yet somewhere in the back of my crazy brain a little part of me is doing a hopeful happy dance.

I need to keep my feet on the ground.

I know that feeling all too well, in your head you know you're being irrational and yet there is that little part that thinks "but what if..."!

I hope you get your BFP soon, sounds like you've had a pretty hard time ttc so far. Flowers

Thanks metalhead we have indeed been trying for quite some time! but I was prepared. I have complicated gynae history and was told at 17 it would be difficult, if not impossible to conceive. So in a lot of ways it was good to know so early, my DH and I discussed our thoughts etc early in our relationship.

Saying all that, we would dearly love a second child and are trying our best! Trying lots! I know my body and it's cycle well after all this time and sore boobs at 3dpo is unusual. It's cruel, because it is probably nothing, but I so want it to be something.

Keeping fx for you! I try not to symptom spot anymore because I've had every symptom under the sun over the past 10 months, and it's usually just my body being exceptionally cruel and making me get my hopes up for nothing... saying that, I find it's almost impossible not to symptom spot during the 2ww as there is nothing else to do!

Bumblebee85 · 16/05/2014 21:02

At 3dpo you wouldn't have any of the pregnancy hormones in your system to cause the symptoms, as implantation won't have occured. Are your cycles regular? Could you be more days post ov than you think?
Hope it works out for you soon and you get your longed for second child x

I get sore boobs as soon as I have ovulated. It's the progesterone.

Best of luck with ttc!
