Hello Mumsnetters... I am hoping that some of you can give me some advice?

I am still BF'ing my 8 month DD and am in the process of trying to introduce a bottle of formula during the day (she's not having any of it but that's a separate discussion!). my feeds during the day have consequently dropped right off, though she is making up for it at ther morning and evening feeds. My periods have not resumed and I now think I could be pregnant since having a couple of 'one - offs' without contraception. I have been feeling nauseous, dizzy and have had definite cramping - exactly like early pregnancy symptoms I've had in the past. However, 3 pregnancy tests have all been BFN! As I dont have a cycle as such - it's about 45 days and 35 days since we had sex without contraception, it's hard to guage whether I am pregnant, or about to get the worst period of my life. The symptoms have lasted 3 weeks so far and have shown no signs of going away. I've had no spotting, so despite the BFN's I am convinced I must be pregnant.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Could the pregnancy symptoms I'm having, in fact be down to my hormones readjusting to a different BF schedule, is it my period returning?

what do you think? Any advice most welcome!

thanks

i also got preg with no AF when dd was about 9 months, the test i did at 10 weeks (denial til then!) was only faintly pos so you sould well be.

with dd all tests came up neg even hosp ones at 9 weeks and the hosp were convinced i'd miscarried til they scanned me and found dd alive and kicking!

I also have a dd who is 7 months and im still bfing her aswell. We are TTC for no 4 at the moment, and like you AF hasn't returned I ve had a few symptoms that for me indicate pregnancy, sleepy more than normal, aching like hell and stomach and back ache which feel like im coming on, these have been there for around 7 days. We have only being TTC for 10 days but i got very early symptoms when trying for dd2, i have tested which alsoshowed a BFn, but as i have no af i am totally clueless when i should be testing anyway, so going to try again on Wed and takeit from there.

I think I'll do another test in a few days too. the last one I did was yesterday, saturday. Spending a fortune on these tests!
I thought I would make an appointment at the doctors if I still feel like this, but I'm swaying between convincing myself I am PG, and hoping I'm not (DH not at all sure about another and I'm just negotiating my back to work terms!)

good luck with your test on wednesday CherryPie

cheers hun. Im so glad i ve found someone who is in exactly the same situation as i am. I m even getting heartburn something i never get unless im PG. Entially i was just going to wait for 4 weeks after the first day of trying, but im far to imaptient for that. Have you bought some tests of ebay? I got 10 for 99p and £1.99 postage, far cheaper than the shops. Good luck to you to hun xxx
