How long has it taken people to conceive after having implant removed?

Considering trying for our second child and wondering whether the implant will mean it will take longer to conceive once it is removed. Any thoughts or experience? Thanks

Hi! Although I didn't start TTC straight after having my implant out, my periods immediately fell into a regular cycle. First period was a bit weird (I'll save you from the details!) but otherwise all ok. You're meant to return to normal fairly quickly with an implant, it's one of the reasons I chose it. Didn't like much else about it!

Hi, I had my implant out in mid November, periods returned really quickly and I am now 6 weeks pg :)

Took us 9 months and my cycle was pretty regular

I had an appt this morning with GP and asked this exact question. It takes seven days for ovulation to start back up once implant is out. Done and dusted

My cycles still aren't regular after over a year since my implant came out. Official advice says that you CAN be fertile as soon as 72 hours after removal but when I've seen GP's they have said that it can take up to a year for the effects to wear off. I think this means that although the hormones leave your system pretty quickly it might take your body a while to remember how to work. Or maybe using hormonal contraceptives have masked issues I may already have had and the GP's don't really know what they're on about.

My advice would be to make sure you get a referral if your cycles don't settle after 6 months.

I had mine out on a Friday and had withdrawal bleeding the next day. Ovulated and conceived two weeks later. Ds2 now 6mo
