Pregnancy after sterilization - can i be???

Not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes.
Was sterilized about 6 -8 months ago after birth of dd. My choice very very certain i do not want any more children.
Period is now bout 8 days late, am feeling very tired and not hungry. What with everything else going on pregnancy not needed at the moment.
Symptons could be down to heat, stress, change in medication etc but beginning to get very worried. Any answers, advice similar experiences would be gratefully received!!

I'm a mum of 5 had had difficult pregnancy with all of my children wasn't suppose to have my last two as it was too dangerous lucky for me everything turned out great I'm 34 and was sterilized after my 5 bby tht was nearly 4 years ago I'm now nearly 2 weeks late for my period and really worried I have major bk ache and little pain in my pelvis/ womb how ever 4 wrks ago I had an internal scan surely if u was pregnant they would of been able to tell as they were looking at my ovaries and womb then Dnt really want to do a test as I'm really fertile could it be anything else :@

hi everyone im 47yrs old and a mother of 5 and 9 grandkids, i was sterilised more than 18 yrs ago.. i came on this site because i have missed 3 periods in a row i'v done the home pregnancy test thing but all came back negative, i felt like i was going insane as i'v had all the pregnancy symptoms apart from being sick i'v even been getting little flutters just above my pubic bone i worked out that if im pregnant im at least 15 weeks, so now been to the doc (who looked at me like i was mad) and she suggested i may be going through the menopause, and the flutters in my tummy are Irritable bowel syndrome caused by stress, i now waiting for the results of my blood tests to come back.

Terrie it could be your hormones making you feel this way, you could be heading toward the perimenopause which can last for a while before you hit the real menopause. Your cycles become more irregular and unpredictable during the perimenopause . There are lots of things that you can take to help balance your hormones if you are not pregnant. Good luck.

Hi all just an up date done 5 pregnancy tests all bar 1 came up negative been to docs today and they've repeated the test results back tomoz I'm now 8 weeks late on Thursday and in so much pain with my back pelvis and womb so we will see 2moz....she refused and blood test to determine if I am or not if this comes back negative then I will be insisting coz something is going on and I can't do this anymore if I'm not then they can take it all away x

hi im new to this but here goes i had the clamps put on in feb and the doctor garanted i could not get pregnat but boy was they wrong they said if there had been a scare it would b eptopic but wrong again i have found out im 9 weeks pregnant its in the rightfull place in the womb so not very happy an very confussed sorry to scare any one by this news just letting u all know it defo can happen

i am fine was a upset wot i just been through to sort it out:( i have got the implant in my arm now aswell as the clamps lol but i got my 3 kids really dont want no more x

i was sterilised in march this yr and am now 3 days late and have had a positive test really dont want any more as have 4 boys and complications in each pregnancy hense the sterilistion x

i had the essure coils put in 4 in each tube and am now late dispite having my op 6 mths ago but have had loads of probs since having it done x

Hi new to mums net but I got sterilised in April after having my 7th child they did it at the same time as c-section. I am having a lot of violet sickness in morning and night and I think I might already be late on as I was on just before the 5th of September and do not feel like I am going to be on please help as I got sterilised cause I have got 7 children just over 7 so don't want any more other half keeps saying "you can't get pregnant cause your sterilised"

hi im sterilized 5 and a half years and am now late by 9 days i had bit brown spotting not much my urine is a brown colour have bit of lower bk pain ive no nausea im tired alot my left breast is sore to touch other is fine could i be pregnand i was sterilized after a elective section i dnt know if my tubes were cut or tied could some one please let me know if this is possible thanks

Maybe someone can give me some advice. I went to my GP in October 12 with pregnancy symptoms (I was sterilized in 1999 after having three children) My GP told me it was impossible to be pregnant and that it was more likely to be the menopause! So for the last four months I've put the tiredness, sore boobs, emotional state etc etc..... down to my body changing I'm 47. I've had a light period every month which lasts for about a day. I'm now getting a bit suspicious because may waist line is getting bigger (I never put on weight) some of my trousers don't fit and the rest of my clothes have become tight...I can also feel movement every now and then...like fluttering or a slight kicking!

What do you think?

Hi cutetoday, please don't be palmed off by the dr's, I went into hospital in February of this year with suspected appendicitis, they took my appendix out, and then woke me at 2.30 in the morning to tell me that my sterilization clips had come off, I was sterilized 17 years ago!!! they have no idea of when they came off and they could only find one! My appendix wasn't the problem, I still have the same pain but they have no idea of what's causing it. For 17 years whenever I've gone for xrays, mammograms etc whenever I've been asked... Any chance of pregnancy, I have always replied I was sterilized in 1995 and been told, oh no chance then! Now I've had to start taking the pill, because apparently there is a chance and at my age the risk is too great, but no one has even bothered apologising let alone suggested ways in which they might look for the missing clip or where it might be?!?!

Hi all, very new to this but here goes. Got sterilized in July 2011 during my 3rd section, my periods are never really regular and normally I don't mind but I'm worrying this time as I'm feeling nauseous, have metallic taste in my mouth, going to the loo more often+certain smells are making me want to be sick. I'm petrified to do a test, although I luv my kids very much I don't know if my husband would want anymore, help? [Confused]

hi ladies, i was sterilized in 2007 after my 3rd c/section ... it was done at the same time. my periods have always been bang on the 28day cycle and it was due yesterday and still hasnt turned up :( dont get me wrong im desperate for another baby but this just plays tricks with me !! like everyone else ive been feeling sick, having migraines, heartburn and weight gain :( im too scared to do a test ... could this just be my mind playing tricks on me ?? and can i just say congrats to all the mummys to be xx

hi ellieBearSF i was glad to see all these posts because they confirmed i wasn't insane, do u think its because we r sterilized that we constantly think about being pregnant? i was fine until late last year when i felt sick and the doc asked me if i was pregnant, when i said i couldn't be due to my sterilization she said "the only way to tell if you've had a successful sterilization is if you never fall pregnant again" i thought it was full proof and was shocked to hear it wasn't, my period came eventually but i've not had one for few months and i'm feeling ill all day and lightheaded, its becoming bad, cant get to see doc til fri so if i can get myself out the door 2moro a test will be got. i think r minds def play tricks, like we think we can feel movements and all, its crazy.

Im 44 and i was sterilized in 2001 after having 3 kids and my periods have always been on time but this month im 6 days late im scared incase im pregnant cos i had a bad time with my 3 kids ive had cravings and i feel flutterings in my stomach

Hi new to this I was sterilised in November of last year but had pain on my left side ever since but regular periods , anyway he goes need but of advice ! I have been late by nearly two weeks and really bad cramps , so I did 3 pergancey test last night all showed two lines . Be it the second line was lighter so phoned the doctors and they said send in a wee sample for them to send off so I did , get the results Monday but see doctor Tuesday . Anyway can't believe what I was seeing so did another four test today all showing two lines again . But after really bad pains today I have had two brownish spots in my pants ( sorry to be crood) done yet another test still shows two lines ? Not sure what to make of it ?

Well spent the weekend in hospital , after two of their pregnancy test and blood test I am definitely pregnant. To early to see if its safe in the womb or eptopic or will miscarriage ? But have been having really bad cramps and pains in my lower left side of my tum. Have to go back Tuesday for another blood test see if the pregnancy hormones are going up is so its a healthily pregnancy , if going down miscarriage and if the don't go up or down its stopped growing and most likely eptopic . So berry worried at the min I have five lovely Children 16 , 13 ,12 ,11 and nearly four. But my husband to to is not their dad so even tho I didn't want anymore ! I have found my self wanting this miracle to be safe and well ? Just have to play the waiting game now really . Will keep you all up dated on what happens next ?

I was sterilised after my second child 4years ago, I feel pregnant all the symptoms are there. I've done a home pregnancy test and its negative, went to see a GP today and told me I'm not pregnant.

You could be. Sometimes a sterilisation can reverse itself. It's very rare but it can/does happen. If you are pregnant I would like to be the first to congratulate you in advance. xx

Do you think doing a blood test will help me find out for sure, or should I wait until month end to see if I miss my period or not, because I've been having these pains on my lower abdomen since last week Friday and they're getting stronger by day?
