New member alert!!!
My husband and I have just decided to ttc! We are both youngest in our family although both on mid 20s! We want our children to be close to their cousins who range from 2-5! Just hoping our brothers and sisters won't be judgemental as they were all in 30s when they started having children! We have been on nice holidays but feel that a baby is the next step and we are very excited! Just looking for some moral support!!!

That's why I didn't let DH know I'd tested. Last time I went mental imagined I was pg for no reason, I tested, told him I wasn't and he just said 'Well I knew that.' Angry

If he really did I wouldn't need to keep peeing on sticks Grin

Cannot wait till we're actively trying and he's feeling excited too! I'll wind him up no end!

pebble82 · 11/12/2013 00:18

I don't think my DP wants to know all the details. I mentioned all the monitoring stuff and he sort of zoned out. I don't want to push it as I'd hate him to freak out and call the whole thing off. Will be secretly measuring/testing anyway (even though I started out thinking I wouldn't... who was I kidding!)

MrsF2510 · 11/12/2013 08:27

Hello everyone! Have relatively recently got married and DH (after years of putting me off the subject of babies frustratingly) announced the day after our wedding that he wanted to try for a baby -with no warning at all! Was thrilled obv but suggested we wait a few months to get finances back on track - plus did not want to come off pill half way through a pack or be pregnant on honeymoon abroad. Had been on pill for 11 years so came off end Oct/ Nov and was so pleased to have AF beginning of Dec, therefore this is my first month of ttc. Like you have said pebbles82, I don't want to mention the monitoring stuff as he switches off and I don't want him to change his mind! Am really excited and wishing everybody ttc luck!

Mummyinpink1289 · 11/12/2013 14:18

Welcome MrsF, weird reading your post as thats sort of what happened to me but the other way around - straight after getting married (we got married 2 months ago) something just chanegd in me and i agreed to start ttc. I already have 2 but my dh has none so he really wanted his own to complete our little family unit.
Im beginning to think i too shouldnt mention the monitoring thing to my dh as he gets all stressed out and worries about things too much when he hears the details!
I did start using opk sticks everyday for a week or so but then decided to stop as i was beginning to obsess and be dissapointed everytime it was negative - the only time it was actually positivie was the day my random 12 hour AF/bleed came! so i give up on them!

RetroHippy · 12/12/2013 17:49

Woo hoo! My cheapies have arrived Grin

Tested again just for the hell of it, still not pg (no surprises there)

Also have opks and a thermometer, hurrah for things I can pee on!

Feel shitty still, boobs have started hurting, look like a whale and am ready to cry or kill someone. This is less than fun Sad

Finnable · 12/12/2013 18:35

Hello to all the new ladies on here, and the 'older' ones too! Wink

Just a quick update from my end, I've been lurking for 48 hours hoping something would happen, but...nothing.

I'm now 4 days late (CD30) and no period - literally in my whole life I've never waited more than 26 days for AF! Still no BFP either, despite me now peeing on them religiously every morning...
At this point I'd take a period just so I can start again for January - the unknowing is killing me, and it's only been 4 days! Aaargh!

Right.

KittyVonCatsington · 12/12/2013 18:42

Don't worry, Finnable, no need to be 'normal' on here! Nothing you can do but play the waiting game, really. Take deep breaths and distract yourself as much as possible!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 12/12/2013 19:20

Hey lovely ladies...sorry youre all still having such a frustrating time....me too! My amazon cheapies arrived and am having problems reading the results. There is one definite dark line in the control section then a 'whiter' bit where two layers of plastic overlap. If it were BFP would the second line be above the white overlap (towards the control section) or below (toward the dippy bit)?

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 12/12/2013 19:36

Oh my god.....driving myself nuts here...just peed on two test strips...both look BFN...thought I'd try an OPK and its come up with what looks like a positive result? Shock Shock Shock surely I am not ovulating? I'm cd27!

Finnable · 12/12/2013 19:42

Things - can you put a picture up so we can have a look?
Kitty - thank you! I'm thinking online Christmas shopping and Netflix might help... Worth a try surely!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 12/12/2013 19:50

Just waiting for my battery to charge so the flash will work then I'll try to upload a pic...not sure how yet though Smile now kidding myself that I can see a faint bfp. ..what is this ttc doing to me???

pebble82 · 12/12/2013 19:56

Things we all feel the madness, you are among friends ;) xx

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 12/12/2013 20:15

OK, have uploaded three photos, quality is not great as taken on my phone. The green strip is the OPK and the blue strip is the HPT.

The OPK instructions say that if the test line is as dark, or almost as dark as the control line it is positive...looks pretty close to me. There is a very very very LIGHT line on the HPT test area, but I think this might be me seeing the small test strip within the test area iyswim? Rather than the small test strip having changed colour to indicate a BFN. You can't really see it in the photo TBH - I do have incredibly good vision so think it is the test strip within the test area ifykwim, rather than a BFN. Anyways...appreciate any comments you ladies have. Hope I am not O'ing as DH is away tonight.

Finnable you must being going loopy - I'm not even late yet and I'm obsessed!

RetroHippy · 12/12/2013 22:40

Can't see the pics Things, your profile isn't public...

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 12/12/2013 23:06

Made it public now hippy

Treaclepie19 · 12/12/2013 23:08

Hi everyone,
sounds like we are all having a confusing time :(
Have you worked it out Things?

I'm wishing we were TTC this month. Not dtd without protection yet and my fertile days according to my app were the past 5 days and ovulating today... Not sure that is right though cus of the discharge yesterday... sorry TMI I know.
Wondering if we would still have a chance today... ARGH.

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 12/12/2013 23:17

Hi treacle, welcome! I'm still not sure what's going on-the joys of being a newbie and off the pill for first time in 12 years Grin

Will test again tomorrow am with fmu to see if it's any clear. Thank god for Internet Cheapies!

Treaclepie19 · 12/12/2013 23:21

Hope you get the answer you're looking for! :)
I'm already going crazy and not even in our first month!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 12/12/2013 23:22

Thanks treacle, I think we're all looking for the same answer Wink

HippyJess · 13/12/2013 06:56

Well that's definitely a positive OPK Things! Not sure what's going on then... Probably just your body still settling down...? Sorry for not being more helpful Confused

MrsF2510 · 13/12/2013 07:34

Hi Treacle, you were me last month - determined to have my AF that wasn't a withdrawal bleed (as was on pill for 11 years). So waited (and that was driving me crazy) focusing on pains an CM and I have never looked forward to AF more!! I actually feel more relaxed this month as can actually do stuff (other than eat healthily and take folic acid tablets!) Wink

k4tie84 · 13/12/2013 09:53

Hi ladies. Just been catching up on all your posts. Sounds like most of us are having a frustrating time.

I ovulated a week ago and still have a week of waiting. I've been feeling a little odd, mild cramping pains, bloated, back ache and strangely itchy over my entire body. I thought it would be way to early to start getting symptoms but I'm sure it's not all in my head.

I hate not knowing.

Mummyinpink1289 · 13/12/2013 11:29

i have some of those amazon cheapies and i keep getting results like yours Things, which has started to make me doubt the accuracy of them tbh - last saturday i got the result exactly like urs yet saturday night i had spotting/light bleeding for 24 hours. So i dont quite understand how that works!

My basal thermometer arrived yesterday so i have been googling up on that as my next trick! Grin I am not obsessed at all! ha

is anyone else temping too?

pebble82 · 13/12/2013 11:44

I'm temping but I'm not convinced it's accurate. Had negative OPK on 10th Dec- not even a hint of a line. Couldn't test on the 11th due to having people round and then yesterday got a faint line which is classed as a negative still. But my temperature has been 36.18 (11th), 36.12 (12th) and 36.40 (today). That would indicate I've already ovulated as temp has gone up today. But OPK was negative. Suppose I could have missed it on the one day I couldn't test :-(

But, last month I had VERY clear signs I'd ovulated (pains , ewcm etc) and that didn't happen this week.

I messed about with the thermometer last night and got different readings every time. It's a specific baby basal temp one so really hadn't expected it to be dodgy!!

Its so annoying not knowing!

threebee · 13/12/2013 11:56

I'm temping (orally) and using OPKs. I think I have a short surge - on previous cycles I have used OPKs once a day and never got a positive. This month I did them twice daily from CD10/11 and got a really clear positive mid-morning on CD12. Have had my temp rise and am now 4dpo so the wait continues...
